She went out on top and put the work in for sure.

How much boost does it take to kill a 3V - about 5 or 6 passes at 20psi will do.

Onto the built motor in a few weeks .

Just had a feeling 20 would be the magic number.. aaannndd you made multiple passes at 20.. That 3v put in a million times more work than was ever intended when designed! On to bigger and better!

There are 3V setups making 1000RWHP out there. They aren't stock as far as the rotating assembly but they are out there. Guy names Jerome on S197forums did a project build and made 1000+ on 93 on a 3V setup running turbos. As I recall his compression was 9.3:1. The 3V gets a bum wrap. Way better block than people give it credit for. Had Ford offered the 4.6 3V with a stock forged rotating assembly there would have been a much better appreciation for the engine. Plenty of guys stroked these things out to 5.0's, lowered the compression and drove the piss out of them.

Look forward to the next build Gaston. I say stick with the 3V, read up good on that project on that forum (I know you are on there) and build a 1000 HP 3V setup that can run on 93.

No doubt Gaston should have his hands full with his new built 3V. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do!

This is build will be Manley forged crank / Molnar Power Adder rods / Diamond flat top forged pistons with upgraded wrist pins / bored 0.10 / King bearings / ARP hardware / ATI balancer / MMR stage 2 heads. Should be 10.5:1 compression ratio. Rings will be gapped for boost . This car will always be a 3V.

Found the weak link!

Are those just stock rods? Are they powdered metal rods like the older 4.6's?

Yes those are powdered metal rods. Definitely the weak link.

Is there other rods that are bent? Looks like the one at 3:14 is.
