THE DOZEN MASTER

1) A Ford-powered Mustang/Capri with current registration, tags, and insurance.

Proof of registration, legal tags, and current insurance may be checked before the final 12 are decided so please make sure your car is current in these areas. We don't want someone kicked off the list over something as simple as this. No dealer tags, tags from your buddy, or any car other than yours. Tags/registration must match car in question. Owner may have help building his/her car of course, but they, the OWNER, will race it. No hired shoes to race for them.

2) Be an active member on this site.

You don't have to be a post whore. Just show up at some events, participate in the forums, help others build their rides, etc.. There's no membership fees, it's all free. This is just so somebody in another locale doesn't pop up on the site, post a number and expect to become part of the list. Stangbangerz is more than a message board. Its a close knit group of enthusiasts that happen to drive Mustangs. Hell, some of us have other rides/interests too, if you think of this small little section of the net as a message board only, well, you're wrong. Twisted Twins will be allowed on the list from here on out. This site, and this list, exist because of Vinny and TT, it only makes sense to allow it on regardless of where it is now located.

3) Break Rule/No Longer Own Car

If you break (have a catastrophic failure of some sort, like blowing your engine up) post up that you have done so and need to be removed from the list. This also applies if you sell your car.

The Dirty Dozen has always been on the "Honor System." When you break or sell your Stang, you are suppose to post it up so you can be removed from the list and give your fellow Stangbangerz the oppurtunity to join the list. If you've got a catastrophic failure or sell your car just post up that you've done so. We don't want to have to find out through the "grapevine" that you need removed from the list, just be upfront about it.

4) Tracks

Tracks will be opened up to allow board members that travel to other states, and other tracks in Ohio, to be able to use the times from these tracks for the list. We still want at least one SBZ member as a witness for Ets. If no member witnesses the run we will need a way to verify the run as legit (e.g., video, pic of the time slip).

5) Cutoff Date

The cutoff date for having your time count for The Dozen will be when the last of the local tracks closes for the year.

Posts originally posted by vinny5oh, and still apply.

The intent of the Dozen is to see who has the 12 fastest street legal Mustangs (or Capris ) in the area. Don't make it a bigger deal than it needs to be. Unless we decide to take it to the next level, we're not going to worry about a bunch of rules, who's car is more streetable, blah, blah. Get your asses out there, have some fun, run whatcha brung and hope you brought enough. The end.

Remember kids, this is for fun, bragging rights and a decal....nothing more. No big money prizes, no sponsorship deals, no trophies....just some good ole boys bringing out their cars and putting a beating on 1320 feet of tarmac!

The "rules" are posted. I really don't want to get very strict on them. I tried keeping them loose enough so any local Stangbanger could get in on it at anytime.

DOT tires will not be required. Mufflers for turbo combinations will not be required.

Alright, here we go folks! Let's see how far into the 9s you can get this list in 2020! 2019 was great! Getting that 9 sec average came down to the very end and was a lot of fun to watch unfold! We have 1 Running of The Dozen set up so far in the Spring and we hope to have a few more throughout the summer. I'm hoping to see a lot of new PBs this year and the return of some members we haven't seen on the list in a while! Good luck to all of you!
-DM

So, what are everyone's plans for 2020? Completely new builds? Just some simple upgrades? Will we have a different car at the #1 spot? Post up and let's see who to watch out for this year!

Nothing much with mine, just playing with the suspension to see if I can find a couple thousandths/tenths.

Keeping the stick car going through the year as it is.

The red turbo car will slowly make its way from a stock 5.0 C4 combo to a Dart block th400 car. May take me a while as Id like to see how the stock stuff plays out.

We could always do a KD Dragway backwards race!!

Vinny and I found this track online one day and we always wanted to make a roadtrip out there to check it out. It looks Sketchy AF, but kinda cool at he same time. :D

Would be some real fast cars if you raced KD backwards down that hill lol

Raced it in 2019. It’s sketchy but fun to run. Just got to keep left going up the hill and make that sharp turn at the top .

I've switched over to a Gen 3 2.9 whipple with a 10rib set up and some other trick parts. It will start the year with the stock MT-82 and when it breaks I will finally put the th400 in it. Goal for the manual is as far in the 9s as it can go, th400 I plan on running 8s.
I can't complain about the old Roush set up. That little gen1 Roush pushed the car to 9.8s and 144 mph and took everything I threw at it.

That Whipple will really make that car scream. The increased flow of the 2.9 will make it sing. BTW - I have a brand new oversized Whipple H.E. I was going to put into my car that is still in the box if you may be interested. $275 takes it. They are $550 new. It has the hose needed for a direct install on your Whipple setup. It's a monster.

I actually have 2 of those. I picked one up for the Roush set up and the Whipple came with one. That is a deal and I appreciate the offer.

Walter I hope the old Mt82 holds together. It's a blast to drive.

Get out there, drive it like you stole it, and post up! Especially if you have vid or pics!

Thanks guys! It sounds like it'll be a blast. Mike (NXcoupe) has been on me for a while to get involved.

My combo is an old pushrod setup. Mexican block 331 w/TFS High Port heads out of the box. Old Spyder EFI intake. Long tube headers. P1SC-2 Procharger. TKO600 Faceplated Transmission. 3.73 gear on a 28x10.5 tire. Tuned by Mike (NXcoupe) still using the old A9L and SCT chip. Old school stuff, but we make it work lol.

I can't wait to get out there and make some passes with all of these wicked fast cars! :cool2:

A lot of good old school parts there. That's when it was fun and people enjoyed getting out and beating on them and just hangin out.

Lot of fun to be had now as well but I know what you mean. Lot of people got married, had kids, etc. and just moved on from the cars thing. Middletown in the mid-late 90s and early 2000s was a lot of fun. Columbus too for that matter but there was a lot bigger police presence there.

Very true guys!

I just like reminiscing on the old days when a 12.50 was flying and people where always down to head to the track for some test n tunes or just out cruising. Mostly due to me getting old!

And these new cars run too damn good! Hard to keep these old pushrod cars together and make the power the Coyotes will. But its all fun to me and I love hanging out with you all.
