I had alot of issues in the last few years with engines. I decided if im going to build another one its going to be a big one. I went all out on the block. I got a dart aluminum block. I end up getting a good price on it but it was still hard to hand the money over it. A few months later i end up getting a set of 240cc highports. Got a good deal on them too. I had to drive about two hours to get them but i saved about $700 on them. My last thing i bought for now is a crank ( callies magnum xl ) rods ( callies compstar ). So far thats all i got. More is definitely coming soon.

Should be a monster, congratulations. I drool over the dart aluminum blocks from time to time myself.

Going to be a runner for sure. Can't wait to see it in action. Maybe it will be enough to prompt your brother to put the giggle gas on his setup since it looks like your build will have the cubes to drive around him.

Still Holley EFI or are you going to a carb?

cyah92
11-06-2019, 05:46 PM
It will be a big carb. Probably a dominater. It will be 15 to 1 or 16 to 1 so it will be on alcohol.

BTW aren't you short about 6 CID?

Chad Thats just what it came out to be with the size of the crank and rods. Brian i think me and the gould mustang probably be together for awhile. I love the way it looks and think a few more grand in her i should be able to get it down the track fast and safe.

Me too guys. Stupid money though

cyah92
04-17-2020, 08:17 PM
Well got a little side ways on the build. I decided to get rid of the 240cc high ports and thinking about buying me a set of victor glidden 2 heads. Hopefully i can pick up a few more ponys to hang with the big boys.

draggin50
04-17-2020, 08:24 PM
Have to set a goal for what you are wanting out of it and continue down that path. If you keep changing your mind throughout the build, you'll keep chasing your tail and take forever. The 240 high ports are a nasty head. For an all motor car, Im sure the Glidden Victors will be a far better head. Keep plugin away at it. You'll get there eventually.

Im anxious to see this one back out soon! Always liked that car.

cyah92
04-17-2020, 08:56 PM
The engine should be done in the next couple months. Or Atleast the money part will be done. Then it will be up to the engine builder. I've been excited every step of the way. Plus the victer glidden 2 flows over a 100 more cfm than the highports. Plus a 11 degree head to a 20 degree head.

draggin50
04-17-2020, 09:09 PM
Yeah they are a nasty head. I picked up a set for my buddy a while back and they are impressive for sure. Those and a big Procharger would be perfect for me!

04-18-2020, 01:59 PM
This is just getting out of hand, get it done already. Haha
With that said, we now have a fresh set of TFS 240 cc Highports for sale, just saying if anyone may be interested?

redfirepearlgt
04-18-2020, 02:28 PM
Take your time and get it right. Don't let anyone rush you. I look forward to seeing it make solid passes...hopefully before 2035. LOL! Sorry couldn't resist that. :D

cyah92
04-18-2020, 08:38 PM
Lol. I hear you Chad. I got some suspension upgrades to do as well. I do need a alot better 8.8 if anyone has one for cheap. Hopefully it won't be much longer.

draggin50
04-18-2020, 10:15 PM
You'll probably need a very well built 8.8. The power you will probably be making is gonna be a little more than a trac loc and 28 spline axles will take!

cyah92
04-18-2020, 10:47 PM
I agree Brian. It will be a spool with minimum 35 spline axles with 9in Ends. Rearend will be braced.

draggin50
04-18-2020, 11:34 PM
Check out Tin Soldiers battle ready 8.8.

I am thinking about having them do one for me. Not a bad price either.

cyah92
04-19-2020, 05:04 PM
Well hopefully my combo can make that. I was told the heads im getting flow 450 plus cfm. We will getting excited about getting done with it.

redfirepearlgt
04-19-2020, 05:14 PM
Run the 8.8 and then upgrade to 31's after you tear it up. Too bad you can't just throw a 11+ GT 8/8 under it. They are stock 31 spline.

draggin50
04-19-2020, 05:14 PM
Hows the engine coming along? When you think it will be done?

cyah92
04-19-2020, 07:02 PM
I already have a 31spline setup in it. Probably going to upgrade to a 35 spline set up.

cyah92

HEY TODD! Guess who I sat and talked with today? Mrs. Gould! I was telling her how you owning of them and she got a little misty knowing you were keeping the paint scheme original to how her husband and son designed it. It was great talking with her. She was in her 98 Lincoln MK VIII LSC. I didn't know who she was until I saw her vanity plate (GOULD). Just thought you'd like to know that your work on keeping that car on the road and restoring it while keeping the paint scheme original (and not doing an LS swap) made her day. Keep at it!

Me to. Once the engine is done I got to get tranny tourqe converter then suspension done. It will be awhile longer but well worth it.

cyah92

08-25-2020, 07:42 PM
You have the short block all together now?

cyah92
08-26-2020, 07:27 PM
Not yet. Engine builder didn't know if Bes was going to make it a 50 or 60cc head. Now he can order the pistons for it. Plus I told him know hurry. It takes time to make the money for all these expensive parts but I think I almost have enough to get it finished.

cyah92
09-12-2020, 11:43 AM
Pistons getting ordered now since I got my little heads back. Also went with the cid 2 piece intake. It sucks about everything being custom order because it just takes to long to get.

Hopefully some time this year.lol. Still saving money to finish it. Costing me more than I wanted to spend but almost done.

cyah92

A set of aluminum jewel rockers got ordered. Had to sell the left nut to buy them. I'm glad I'm almost done. This is stressful

draggin50
10-10-2020, 08:15 PM
You have to be getting close!

Hopefully you are ready to bring it out come spring. Im ready to see it done!

cyah92
10-10-2020, 08:34 PM
I'm hoping. Everything just cost so much building a big engine. I'm thinking another 5k and sometime this year it should be done. I wasn't expecting paying 2400 for rockers. But this thing is going to be a high rpm engine. I still need a good tranny and tourqe converter. That's another 5gs then another 5 to 6 gs to finish suspension. I would love to have it rolling next year but money doesn't come that quick. So I'm looking for another year plus and it will be done.

2Fast4You
10-14-2020, 09:46 AM

Yes it is. I'm building a unique engine setup. Just trying to be different. As much as I should of went force induction I just wanted to be a little plain. Less things I have to worry about for now. It will get there eventually. Buying all new parts is definitely costing me a lot of money but it will be neat when people look under the hood and say. We're is your power adder. And I get to say i don't have one and there trying to figure how its so fast.

^^^ Uh....like......NO! Being the foxbody was stock with a 302cid push rod engine and you are putting a FBB in it you can now say...."You're looking at it". The power adder is the FBB. ;)

I like it BTW! Hope you are safe minded enough to at least roll bar it if not cage it as it should be when its done given its full potential on that "power adder FBB".
