How cold of weather will they open down to?

I think it has to be above 50 degrees. Although 2Fast4You might want it a bit warmer so he doesn't do the 2 lane shuffle again. :)

That's good no one got hit. I had one time my Cobra hit a slick spot on the track going 100 and I remember letting off the gas because the car was going sideways. Not a good time. I thought it was 40F but I'm not sure close the track.

Well I'm glad you've been sleeping fine. I have been having nothing but bad nightmares since. I dream this big, fuzzy, gray, and calico caterpillar with glasses and a racing helmet keeps trying to bite my head off but I elude him and outrun him when he trips over the center line. :tongue2: :D

Once it gets down below freezing a few days with no warmth in sight, they shut it down. Cheaper to call it a year than replace pipes after they bust.

With all the rain the track might have flooded. Coming through Hamilton today you could barely tell where the lower dam was.

if the weather is good I am going out. I picked up a used set of 275/60/15's to try out to see if a 28" tire makes a difference before I buy a new set for next season.

I'll be heading down with Volvo. My Mustang is in hibernation. I almost bought a 2.3 whipple tonight for it for 1200 but timed ebay wrong. Maybe this time next year I can save enough for a new VMP TVS.

Dang that's a deal if it was the complete kit like mine was. I love the Whipple.

Gen 1, 3" pulley and SBTB plenum. It needed a throttle body. I pressed bid at 10 seconds left and I was too late it said. I would of probably got it.

You'll be happier with the VMP Joe. Much more efficient, less heat, better flow. And the support from the guys down there is second to none.

I'll eventually get one most probably. I don't feel like dropping anymore money in the Volvo right now. I wouldn't mind running 11s on my nittos. 12.3 is best I gotten with them with the ported blower. Ever since dealing with and resolving my throttlebody issues I just stop messing with the Cobra. I'll probably just run a stock ported TB on my Cobra with a 2.3. Maybe a accufab if I can convince myself it's going to work ok. The Dragon was terrible.

It went 11.5 on sticky tires with a 2.8 pulley. I never ran it with the 2.7. I did drop .2 seconds with it on the nittos 555rs but I never been able to cut better than 2.0 on them. I don't want to get booted for not having a cage. Makes me want a 08 or newer car.

They warn you first to slow down if you make two back to back sub 11.50 passes. I got warned after two back to back 10.8x passes last year (2016). Didn't hear a peep from them this year running back to back 10.8x passes. If I get the car running solid 10's regardless of air next season then I will contemplate a roll bar. Hopefully the car's Christmas gifts will help with that in 2018. I love buying my car Christmas gifts.

They got good deals on the gen 3 right now. It's a different rotor pack which is supppose be more efficient. It comes with 18psi pulley which is probably what I would run. You make good power with your gen 2. What is your setup?

Standard inlet with an accufab sbtb, ARH 1 7/8's headers, 3 inch x pipe, 80lb injectors, E85, 3.73 gear. Made 716/661 at 21lbs. 3.20 upper and a 2lb lower.

Id love to pick one up. Just not in the cards right now. Might wait to see some real life numbers before I jump on it.

Let's get a run in at spring time. Your car on boost only, no nitrous.

We can do that! It would be a good race. I doubt Ill be doing anything to it other than a clutch over the winter.

Id love to throw a small kit on it. A 50 shot would really wake it up I think. Doubt it will ever happen though.

I did not think you were running any nitrous over your blower. I cannot even imagine the immediate onset of torque with a PD blower and nitrous coming on at the same time. Add that to your stick shift clutch launch and your tires will be begging for mercy. Hahaha. I am sure the ride would be amazing when you get it hooked up though.

Ive talked about it for a while but just haven't done it. Rick Kaknes is running a small dry shot on his with the TVS and it goes 9.20's in his vert. They say it makes a huge difference.

This is the last outing for the slow motor. I hope to see what it really has in it. I lowered the boost from 24 to 20 because I am afraid of cracking the block. I would like to see 9.20s or 9.30's.

The track today was the worst I have ever seen it. I only managed one full pass pedalling the hell out of it and lifting early due to traction. I went 9.6, then lunched the blower again on the next burnout.
The blower grenaded so badly that the chunks flew out and trashed my hood too.

May be time to go turbo.

There was a fox body mustang that stood up on the bumper that hit the wall also. Hope it wasn't any of you guys.

I didnt expect to run a good 60 that day. I usually have better luck hooking there during a Sunday race day where they actually prep the track.

Yeah fortunately I trailered the car. I almost drove it!!!

When the blower went I just cut the belt and was able to load it on the trailer. I have tons of parts and 2 motors. I think I am going to try something different.

They "prep" if you wish to call it prep at some point. A bug sprayer with prep sprayed from the 60ft back is their idea of prepping. I have seen the track drug on a TT night twice in all the times I have been there over the years. I have seen the truck that sprays prep on the whole track out maybe 10 times on a TT night all of the years I have been going there.

Hearsay has it that a VP rep came in there years ago and tried to show Dick how to properly prep the track. Dick refused to listen and the VP rep threw up his hands in frustration and left.

However an unprepped or rarely and poorly prepped track I guess, is better than no track at all.
