Frickin Locusts are here...

Just spotted the first locust around my house. The annoying black bodied, yellow winged, red eyed vagrants have arrived. Just a matter of days before the irritating noise begins. 1999 or 2000 was the last time they were here. I thought they only came every 20 years or so. KEE-WRAP!

I haven't saw 1 yet this year. Ive seen them every year here lately though.

Saw two today. My kids saw their first one and attacked it with two bubble machines. I'm not sure what they think about them yet. I've never been a huge fan of those bugs.

They said these are the early ones. The came out a few years early last time around and are doing it again. We'll get the main chunk of them in a few years. It's every 17 years I believe, not 20.

Cicadas dont bother me at all. Just a mess in the yard is all. I did go thru Florida once during a massive Love Bug infestation. Pretty much ruined the paint on my front bumper.

Those Love bugs are nasty on paint I hear.

My wife corrected me last night btw. Yes Cicada's not Locusts you are correct.

Np, yea the love bugs got a shell on them so it literally will cut a little chip in your paint. One chip for each of the one million you will hit...

I haven't seen nor have I even seen one, that's the way I would like to keep it. Lol

Saw more today as I walked up the driveway. Heard the first faint murmurs of them as well.
