I'm not going to run the calypso any more until it gets a massive facelift and is much faster. So I am going to run my green 14 for now till I get something else faster. After re-reading the rules I wrote for this challenge, I see there is no substitution rule. So does that mean that the spot is held by the person and not the car? What do you think? Should a rule be amended to the list?

I think the car holds the spot first so if a driver's car goes down , it comes off and if the driver brings a new car or drives for someone else , they start at the bottom and work their way up. Just my opinion since I am not on the list.

Man that is a tuff question. I always thought that the combination of driver and car held the spot. I would think if either were to break, quite, retire ect. then the spot is given up.

But I really don't think that its an issue as long as everyone knows upfront right?

^^^ I agree here. However if the consensus says it doesn't matter either way, I'm going to hire Shannon. DTony, 2-tone, or Shayne run their car in all my call outs in my place but take the credit for it.

Still feel a new car has to be proven. It's not like its a car that has already proved itself and has had upgrades to go faster. But again that is my opinion. As stated I will go with whatever. It's a bragging right not a means of supporting myself.

Works for me. Driver an car are together i feel. If either change you fall off the list. Also think we need a shake up on the list. 1 for 1 for spots. No number #8 taking a #4 spot. Need to work an earn it. Alot can change by then. I know people with a tube chassis mustang. Vin # an tags. Say i borrow it an pull my car an call out #1.......is that fair? Even though im same driver.......nope

I think if we start having a bunch of people showing up weekly we should consider one spot at a time challenges. Like the outlaws do. Right now it has been tough to get people showing up. There was a lot of carnage and not an excess of guys. But this year seems to have a high interest level. I am excited to see how this list shakes out. Even if i fall off the bottom. Seems like it will be pretty quick. And i agree with all above car and driver tied together.

It's not worth uploading unless you want to see me spinning, getting squirrelly and driving through it. Classic consistent experienced driver auto car vs. manual inexperienced driver with new found power. I'm encouraged to get more seat time, work on my launch, ditch the sway bar and make some suspension changes. I need to learn to slip the clutch and not allow enough time to eat a ham sandwich between gears. I want to thank everyone there for the suggestions on making it better. You guys are awesome! And thanks again for the race!

Ditto on above, best launches I've had is with stock was just dropping the clutch at higher rpms on slicks. Street tires I would ease onto the throttle. Good luck with the new power!

Well, Steve and I ran for spot tonight at edgewater, I won. He didn't have his nitrous on. He called me back out and this time his nitrous worked and he won. First pass he redlit and I still reeled him in but the second race was a clear victory on his part. I'm in need of traction and lighten the car up a bit. lots of fun. Had a great time. Donna and Steve's wife witnessed the first race and Chad and them watched the second race.

Slicks?!? They were factory all season radial tires. Hahaha. Hence his need for traction. That car runs like crazy but tires were limiting it to a 2.0 60'. It came on very strong on the big end.

I was looking to race nick first to get some people involved that have not been very active. Its basically been just a few of us at the track running and only a couple of callouts this year. Let me see if we can make Edgewater work. I have a customer scheduled on the dyno late Friday afternoon but have a strong feeling he's not going to have his car ready. I'll know something in the morning. Car is ready to go, haven't even unloaded from Bowling Green.

Yes sir. First of all there was a great group there tonight. And even a host of spouses. Chad, gordon, adam, nick, shayne, walter, matt and probably a couple others that are skipping my mind at 2am (had a trailer flat on the way to cincy and the spare blew on the way home). Started with nick and i running for his #4 spot. Nick redlit and i spun for 60'. We plan a rematch but we ran out time at the track. I gained the # 4 spot. Answering adams call out from this week i managed to hold him off but his car seemed to be picking up steam on the big end. I think he had some clutch trouble but i am sure he will be coming back after somebody on the list. It was great fun tonight. I am glad so many came out.

Last year i think shayne and shannon just kept racing and only one or two others raced for position. It was fun to watch. Everytime shannon would be ahead at 300 feet and shayne would pass him mid track. At least 3 times i know of. Haha.

Had some great racing today. Shayne gave me our heat by going left of center right off the start line. Thankfully we both avoided each other through some fancy driving of Shayne's and pedaling on my part. But a mere 23 minutes later and Draggin50 had to go and spoil my moment of glory at being #1. In his call out for the winner of me and Shayne he ran a 10.38@137 to my 10.83@131 edging me out of the #1 spot by half a car. By the end of the day. S281 gave me a serious run cracking a new PB 11.01@122 on a 1.47 60ft to my 10.88@130 on a 1.65 60ft edging him out by half a fender. Shayne gained his wits and found his way back to the top by the end of the day. ................................But for 23 glorious moments I was #1 and had toppled the Giant. :D Just goes to further prove that anything can happen in racing. When the smoke cleared I was sitting in the #4 spot.

Congrats Shayne on retaking #1.

So, WHAT A DAY OF RACING!! 4 number 1 spot changes! Had a great turnout, met some new people and renewed old friendships. All in all the best day of the year for me. Hope everyone had fun today. Lot's of movement everywhere on the list, not just the top, and a few newcomers as well. Congrats to the 2017 Dirty Dozen Challenge List members.

Thanks Mike! I think I cut the finish line short on my 2nd pass and it spun bad on 1st. The last pass, I got out of the groove so bad I had to let up a little. Just driving errors but either way, I had a blast!
