2002 Mercury Mountaineer AWD 4.6 liter $1200

I bought this locally from a kid with big dreams of using this and a 99 GT as donors for his 1983 Mustang. He quickly figured out the carbed 306 was going to be much easier. Here is the link with info and pictures. It is the all aluminum 4.6. I would make somebody a deal on it or trade for Mustang junk and cash.

I'd bet it's just the wheel bearings up front making the noise. My 02 Explorer made some nasty noises when the bearings were bad. I too thought an axle was bad.
