NMRA National Trails True Street 6/11/16...

The True Street Class for NMRA is quickly coming up June 11th. Was hoping we would have a few guys/gals interested in making the drive up and entering this street class competition.

Any one still going? Attached is the schedule for the race weekend. True Street runs Saturday and finishes Saturday. Gates open at 8:30am.

Or for that matter anyone competing in other classes that weekend speak up so I can at least look you up if the chance allows that Saturday.

Time trials are on 6/10 apparently. Not sure if making those are required or not. Round one is at 3pm for True Street and Bracket racers.

Friday will be test and tune. Saturday you will make the cruise them 3 passes. That is of the weather cooperates. At BG last year I finally got to make 2 passes a lit 5:00 on Sunday.

I'm still planning on going. I need to get a set of dot tires though I guess. I'd drive on slicks if aloud. Well as long as it's dry out!

325 series radials is the limit. 10.75" width if running a DOT slick style.

I think Im going to look into the Hoosier Quick Time Pro. I know my car doesn't like a drag radial. Suspension really needs some work!

Sounds good. I may order the Whiteline rear sway bar kit and install it so I can run the 15x10's that have 295/50/15's on them. I do the sway bar relocation bracket kit but there is interference between the sway bar and LCA control arm mounts which require additional grinding due to the larger sway bar on the cars after 2010. Otherwise they'd already be on the car. Tires are at the warning mark but I'm certain that they have 30 miles and three passes left in them.

So, is anyone interested in meeting up before going in? I will be staying at in-laws nearby. We could meet where 37 and I-70 connect OR we could meet near Lancaster and travel up 37 together Saturday. I did get some information on cost.

If you plan on going up Friday night and registering and going through tech then it will cost $125. If you show up Saturday morning and go through tech it will cost $100. Don't ask me why, but she said if you go Friday you can make passes Friday and also make passes Saturday morning first thing while everyone else is busy registering and going through tech. I may very well go up Friday to register. She also stated that true street will be parked in a designated area. I plan on calling the track today and getting information on what gate to access for entering.

I had planned on making this one, but im still getting mine back together. I'm finally fixing the frame rust mine has, it sucks! I've ran in the bowling green event for the past 6 years now, and I can tell you, true street is a blast!! Hoping mine's together for bowling green this year.

This will be my first one. Went to Norwalk in 97 or 98. Saw Brandon Switzer, Les Baer, Kenny Markwich, and a bunch of other big name guys back then. Went to Trails a few times later. Got to watch Jon Huber make passes in his 4 banger turbo. Was a blast!

It is a one day event for the running, however without paying out any more you automatically can run in the bracket class on Sunday without paying according to that gal I talked to who heads up the event out in California. I was hoping we could possibly meet somewhere near I70 and the HWY 37 exit 126. Only thing I see right off the exit going towards US 40 national road, is a Pilot Truck stop, a Dairy Queen and a Subway. So if anyone would like to meet there at a set time that Saturday morning just so we can stay together as a group when we enter holler. I'm game for it.

It appears from google earth racing participants enter at GATE A just past the private camping entrance on the right on US40/SR40 ??? Anyone been to National Trail to run that could conform this or correct me?

Coming from 37, it will be the 1st entrance just past Buckeye Airport. The long one that crosses the small creek.

Usually the prep is decent. If the big NMRA guys can get down the track, we shouldn't have a problem. Kilkare is falling off quick too with the prep so Id say other than the surface, E2O and Kilkare are close.

T Ball schedule was changed from last month and didn't catch it until here recently, and the wife didn't keep in mind that I was going to the NMRA and made plans for us to go to the Rising Sun Balloon Festival, double whammy. That conversation didn't go over as well as it could have or I would still be going to the NMRA. I guess you win some and you lose some.

Bad day for me... Ran 1 pass for time trials when I got there and went 11.10. Car didn't feel right.

Made the cruise and came back to make the passes. First pass was a 16.79 and the 2nd pass was a 15 something. Blew antifreeze out the hood vent all over my window so I loaded my junk up... Car would not leave under boost, cut out and almost died every pass.

Other than that, I had fun! Good to finally meet Bob! Me him, and Chad stayed together for most of the cruise. They had a pretty good turn out. 89 cars I think for True Street.

Im not sure what it is yet. I need to tear into it and see whats going on. The N2MB box will come out for sure. Its gave me nothing but problems since day 1... I have to check the intercooler pump and make sure its working all the time and then pressure check the intercooler system to make sure the intercooler isn't cracked. And my fuel pump is screaming again so Im about to dump the whole system and start over...

Funny thing is, I came home, unloaded it, and made 3 passes on the street and it didn't have any problems and did what it usually does. They say everything happens for a reason... Maybe there is a reason.

Could it also possibly be the cap on the intercooler resivor? You prolly have an aftermarket one so doubt it. Just something else to check. I'd pull the relay and jump the pump too.

Ran 11.450/11.457. Guy next to me had run two consecutive 13.6x passes. Was next to him again. Paced him down the track and hammered it full throttle the last piece. Needed a 13.10 to run a tight 12.00. He ran his worst pass of the three. I ran a 14.105. Oh well. Won't complain for 95+ degree weather and IAT's running triple digits into the TB.

Good to hear Brian. Probably just puked out the H.E. res from the heat yesterday. The ambient temp reading in my car got up to 108 while moving. IAT was125-130 at times. No telling what the IAT2 temps were I didn't datalog and now i want an aeroforce gauge so I can see that and other things.

My IAT1 was around 130 on both passes so Id say the IAT2 was around 180-200. That's probably the hottest its ever been. Im going to remove the N2MB box. I can do without all the popping and the no lift shift. Its done nothing but hinder me in times of need!

Def going to BG. May even have to borrow a trailer and head up to Jolliet for the July 28 NRMA event. It's only 4-5 hours drive, not much further than BG.

The silver car is a 2.9 Crusher with a 4lb lower and 3.25 upper I think he said. It runs real good. Tuned by Lee Blankenship.

I have the Afco heat exchanger but I guess I need to look into the Killer Chiller if I want to play in the heat!

Wish I could've made it...We were in Columbus area for a fast pitch softball tourney with my daughter. Everything looked good until she got hit in the head with a foul ball from another field! She was sitting in a chair and the ball hit her in the temple. She kind of laughed it off, went out and started playing the game. Made it to the end of the 2nd inning, and came off the field very slowly. I asked her if she was ok, and she looked at me about half cross eyed, and said "huh?" That's it, you're done. Off to the hospital for a nice 3hr visit! It's just a mild concussion, but nothing to mess around with. Anyhow, I told her she had her Mom's hard head, and everything would be ok! :lol:

Concussions aren't anything to mess with. My boy was about 8 and fell out of a swing and got one. Scared me to death. He acted all crazy!
