Norwalk is suppose to be a much better track than National Trail but I am still going to try and make it. I'm also looking at going to the NMCA race in Indy as well as NMRA finals in Bowling Green. For those not on Facebook there is also a mod motor race in Memphis Labor Day weekend that should be good. John Mihovetz is suppose to be there with his 5 second mod motor mustang and there is going to be a mod motor vs. LSX shootout.

I just plan on being there Saturday for the True Street and Probably Sunday.
It looks like I need a set of DOT tires since slicks aren't aloud. Also depending on how it runs this year, the cage may need done and I might have to get an NHRA license. Guess I better get my ducks in a row!

Got everything I need besides pistons and rods. Those will be coming shortly. Everything should be done before spring besides a tune. Even picked up some '03 seats.

yea I'm wondering how strict they are in true street about cages? my car will have some bolt ons but not a lot but, it will "technically" need cage

Id like to hear from someone who has ran it before. Id almost bet they are pretty strict when it comes to rules.

It all depends on who you get for tech. They looked at a lot more this year at BG than they did the first time I went.

Going to be over at Finishline tomorrow to see the guys. I will ask them. Brandy drove Terry Reeves 14 GT in the True Street class. So they will know something specific about that part of the event.

What did it run then? I thought it was in the 10's.

Dorothy went tens that day Brain. No cage. Tens is where Brandy was putting it and she was first time driving it. Seems mid to high 10's if I recall.

Ok. That's what I thought it ran. Maybe Ill just let out of it and go for the 11.0 spot.

Talked to Brandy and Brian at FLP today about this true street class. Obviously 30 miles driving. IF you are running an ice box iT MUST be in the trunk and you MUST declare it. That is the only way yu can top it off with ice after the return to the track before making passes. Ice boxes under the hood...too bad. No fuel top offs. Air pressure changes only and may only be specific to only being able to lower the pressure. As it was explained to me you do not have to proclaim before running how fast you anticipate your car to go or what time class you predict being in. Tech was fairly loose according to them . Brandy drove Terry Reeves 14 named Dorothy to the mid 10's and had no cage and was not questioned. According to Brian 10.50 down will get you noticed with regard to roll cage...but this is 2016 and that was then. Plus this we are talking National Trail and not Norwalk. Soooooooo. One thing mandatory I was not aware of is that you WILL NEED A RACE JACKET. Helmet as well but that is a no brainer. The driver meeting will go over all the rules in detail. Last if you decide to stay the night your time will enter you into the Sunday bracket race portion of the event as well. So for those staying there is a bone tossed your way for remaining behind and not coming home.
Hope this helps out. I am looking forward to this and need to go find me a race jacket. Stay warm.

I ran in Norwalk w my Shelby gt last year and they didn't ask me about time or look for a cage

Make sure your helmet is up to date too.

I upgraded my helmet last year so Im good there. I still need a jacket though.
Im just gonna go and see what they say. If I can get some upgrades done between now and then, that's a plus! Id like to shoot for the 10.0 spot. If they wont let me run it out, Ill go for the 11.0 spot and see how I do.
I already have to buy a set of tires since they don't allow slicks. Ill probably just grab a 27x11.5 Quick Time Pro.

It's in the plans, just want to get the chassis squared away on the engine first.
Most likely will have it in place and ready to go though, I'm ready to make this thing fast, I think! Lol
