Headed to OKC

Wife and i are headed to OKC. We stopped just outside St. Louis last night in Troy, IL. Highly recommend a restaurant called Fire and Smoke, bbq place right off the exit. Fantastic food.
Why are we headed to tornado alley you ask? Well because I am a huge fan of the show Street Outlaws and so is my wife, and for a few years now I've been saying how cool it would be to go see aome of their shops and maybe meet a few of the guys. Well I finally gotmy wish. Wife was off work all this week and I thought what the heck, I was due for a few days off.
I already made contact with one of the guys on the show, so we will see how it goes. Wish me luck. I will post pics here when i get home as I haven't mastered the photobucket mobile site yet.

Thanks guys! Well, after 10 hours of driving in blinding rain, wife spotted a Kohls (anyone that knows her knows why), and I figured they'd have clean restrooms since not a lot of men go there through the weekdays. Killing time and letting my nerves unwind for a few.

We made it at 6 pm their time to the midwest streetcars shop. My god OKC is a huge town. Saw two cool mustangs in 10 minutes here. Tomorrow gonna start hitting places and I will post as we go.

Wow, busy morning. Started off heading to Doc's diesel shop and had to wait around for a few but finally got to meet him. Very accomodating guy. He told us there was a meeting they were filming at 1. So we headed there and took pics, guys weren't there, but got pics of the bullet holes in the door.
Next we went to chuck's place and he wasn't there either but we took pics and talked to his front manager.
Then we headed to farmtruck and asians place. They used to run it themselves but now they have a lady working their store for them, so we didn't get to meet them. Place is very cool, highly recommend checking it out.
Lastly we went to daddy dave's place and he had already left for the meeting. His wife was there, she works the front of the shop. She showed us around and let us in the back. She took my number and is supposed to call when he gets back but we will see.
We stopped for lunch, and then we are headed to varley's shop.

So there is good reason for my delay in posting. We stopped by Varley's shop as planned and he was there! He showed us around, let Donna and I sit in his car and get pics taken. He talked shop for a while and then just shot the shit with us for about 3 hours. I have video of his car running and pics of us with him. We hung around until he closed and we headed back towards our hotel. We decided to swing by this brewery called Mustang brewery. We pulled in and found they don't have a tasting bar and weren't open to the public. So we were sitting in the parking lot trying to decide where to go when daddy Dave's wife called. She said he's back, and he has his new car back from the painters! I asked how much longer they would be there and she said at least an hour. I said we'll be there! I drove as fast as the rush hour traffic would let us, and we made it there. There was Dave and there was goliath 2!
We hung out talking and I pitched in when I could and helped. He asked if we had a problem with being on camera and I said no, and he pointed to a webcam mounted on the wall. So if the segment airs and you see a sbz shirt you'll know it was me!. We took a bunch of picks and we were talking about the show and how we had missed seeing chuck, and Dave smiled as his phone started ringing and he turned it so we could see who was calling, yep Chuck. Lol. He was swinging by. We got to meet him as well and get some pics too. All for now, my thumbs are tired.

Man that is great. Try getting that kind of one-on-one with Pawn Stars or Orange County Customs, or other reality shows that have gone big. I hope the guys all keep their heads about them as the show grows in popularity. Glad you guys have had such great success. Would still love to hear about Azn and Farm Truck however. Gonna try to catch them again? What about Chief and Murder Nova or the others? Can't think of the name of the guy with the Mopar in the group at the moment. Mind is slipping me. Thanks everyone! Our trip turned out to be only 1.25 days. I ended up driving 13.5 hours home yesterday, got in at 2:30 am this morning. I will download the 60+ pics I have and post them up. It was an incredible journey and an experience that will last a lifetime! Thanks to my wife for letting this happen for us. She had a blast too and bonded with Dave's wife a little. I will post up all but the pics of goliath. For those you have to see me in person as I gave my word I wouldn't post them.

From there we went to Farmtruck and Azn's place. Tshirt lady said I could poke my head in the garage and take some pics. So I did. Truck out front is the one Murder nova and Big Chief 'bought' to prank farmtruck. Not. It's farmtruck's. One pic is of a TV turned into a fishtank with azn and farmtruck's vehicles in it.
