You can use one off a Fox as well. Did it on my old 94.

I was told that that they was different because the accessories closer to the motor

Ill go out and check. The balancer I have is off a fox and I have the 94 sitting outside.

Looks the same. Free if ya want it. The pulleys are the only difference.

Brian is correct. Pulleys are the difference. Along with the timing cover, water pump, and accessory brackets. Balancer is exactly the same. The explorer balancer is the different one due to the DIS ignition it has the tone ring made onto it.
