For the last few years I've seen alot of foxbodies being used for derby cars, last night at the brown county fair I counted at least 5 foxes,1 mustang 2,and 1 pinto,I thought to myself, why would you do that to them cars, there was also a AMC gremlin in the derby ring, these cars weren't all rusted out either. .I really didn't feel like watching it after I saw them come out.

I have a friend that derby's fox bodies. So easy to pick one up without a title, part it out, and derby it. Then take 5 or 8 of em to crusher at one shot.

It pains me to see but then again I have got a lot of good parts from these Derby guys for my car, and the foxes typically do really well assuming the guy knows what he is doing. I planned to go tonight and I know a guy there will have at least 1 fox in the derby.

If a car is worth saving, you can still get a title, it may take some effort ,but it can be done, eventually these cars will be like the 60's models,I couldn't justify putting a 65 fastback in the derby if it had no title.

Geez, I do not like the sound of that at all. Not cool.

Sad to hear this. Are they mostly hatchbacks? I assume they are.

Cheap, and there are a lot of them. Getting harder and harder to find a Oldsmobile Station wagon!

Olds Station Wagon? Probably not many made to begin with due to lack of interest. Neighbor had an early 90's model for sale for 4+ months before it finally vanished. Still don't know if it was sold or just hauled away. Real Estate values have increased since it left the area. LOL!

A remember seeing a while back that over a million fox bodies were produced from 79-93. Most I've seen at derby's are rotted out 4 bangers. What else would you do with em?

It just makes the survivors more valuable. Good for the owners, but not good for those wanting to buy.
I see a new 03-04 Cobra getting parted out daily it seems. There's always new ones popping up on Craigslist, Ebay, Copart, MPS etc. I got some parts from a guy in Trenton who parted out a perfectly good black vert just because it's worth more money in parts than as a whole. The body had never been wrecked, but he planned to scrap it because nobody would buy it and he wanted it gone. A guy on SVTP posted that he has personally parted out over 125 in his yard alone. I'm all for 03-04 Cobras being parted out and the bodies being crushed. Every one makes mine a little more rare and worth a little bit more. I just wish I had more money to pick up some of the parts as spares. Damn near every Cobra specific part is $500+ and if it's an exterior part it's typically painted the wrong color, so throw another $250 to $500 on top for paint.

Agreed....just looked it up, nearly 2.5 million fox bodies manufactured between 79-93, which was more than I thought actually....

Me too sad to see but at the same time makes mine more rare as well.
