Well I have posted this in the builds area but since Mike set it up I figured I would continue here.
I am in the midst of a long term build and doing a complete restoration while I am at it. The car will be a street car with as many nice things I can put in an 86, including AC, power steering, hydroboost brakes and maybe eventually cruise if I can get it figured out.
Current condition of the car is roller status in the garage waiting for paint. I have swapped out the SRA for an 04 cobra IRS with coil overs. I have an extra IRS subframe that I intend to build up with FTBR components. Up front I am all MM components, including coyote swap k member.
I have brand new carpet and brand new corbeau gts II seats for the inside, and will be using a mix of interior from a 92 and the 86. All black will be the color. The dash will be from the 86 which I will most likely be using the SEM paint on along with a new black dash pad. Im going to be using all aftermarket gauges that I want to stick in the stock cluster location to keep the stockish look.
Trans will be a t56 from an 04 cobra. I want to at least have the input shaft swapped before I install it into the car, and down the road either have the trans rebuilt or just buy a new t56magnum.

Trust me garage needs to be way bigger...right now I'm out of floor space and until the engine gets into the car my truck is outside which I absolutely hate especially in the winter. I have to get it in before snow!

I have cleaned up the engine since my last post. Ran into a complication when removing the coils. I had a bolt break off in the valve cover. It had an unusual amount of corrosion. Needless to say I will be ordering new valve/cam covers. A new front cover and a few other goodies along with my control pack from ford.
Engine was placed in the car just to make sure I had the right mount combo for my engine and Trans combo. Luckily I did.
I also picked up a frpp cobra jet oil pump with billet gears. According to a trusted source...Fords billet gears are actually TSS gears. Since TSS may not be making truck op gears anymore I had to swap the pump out to a mustang one anyway and happen to stumble across a good deal on a new cj pump assembly.

Jesse came over and was a lot of help setting engine and Trans in. It was a big job for me alone so I'm thankful he was able to help. Much appreciated!

We got our mustang timing cover off ebay cheap. And I'm checking out a different source on oil pump gears thanks to cameron. Hoping I can help some people out with a lower cost alternative.

What headers are those? That's the next thing we need to get.

BBK coyote swap headers. I think Kooks are making some with larger primaries. However I have seen a lot of negative reviews on kooks swap headers. Most everyone I have seen that has BBK says they fit well. They used the MM k member to design them. I think kooks needs a k member more like UPR.

You need to share some of these ebay deals! I figured for like 90 bucks a brand new front cover wasnt too bad. I would not need to swap it out if I wasnt running all the front accessories. I wish there were a better alternative to the Power by the hour brackets. They are pricey, I guess if I had the resources to fabricate my own stuff I could, but they have what appears to be a really nice and well put together kit. Plus Frank from PBH is very helpful. I have messaged him several times.

It's going to suck having to stage the engine/trans and K member and car all separately to get just the engine in w/ the headers on.

Eh be optimistic. Just means I won't be putting it in and out that much.

We are going to remove kmember, set engine with headers down onto it, then lift the whole deal up into the engine compartment. Think that will be the easiest way to get it in there without tearing up paint or hitting a bunch of stuff. Hoping. lol.

From my understanding as long as you don't have sway bar mounts that's the easiest way especially using a lift. I unfortunately have kept the sway bar mounts.

We set both the race car engines right down in from the top without an issue, but no headers on either. This will be a first for us on a fox with a coyote putting it up from the bottom.
