Rear ended on my motorcycle

Well it finally happened. I was sitting at a stop light and a drunk and on heroin driver hit me going 35 to 45 mph. I had enough time to see the front end of his escape filling up my left mirror. I remember thinking what the hell is this guy doing. Then smash, he didn't even try to stop. After I bounced off of him he hit me again wedging my bike into his front end. Holding the bike up a little so no damage to the pegs bars or even the grips. Pushed the bike 20 to 30 feet and I was said to have gone 10 to 15 feet up. Landed on my right side and adrenalian took over. I popped up and was immediately mouthing off to the driver. He told me hE had been drinking and wanted to take the car to his girlfriends. I said well your fucked and your not going anywhere. He tried to start the car but it wouldn't even turn over. Then he got out of the car and took off. The cops caught him fast. He was under the influence, driving a stolen car, he resisted arrest, left the scene, on parole, got tazed, and a few other things. Also had no insurance. So all I had was basic coverage so I'm just outta luck. 300 to get the bike back, whatever the hospital and ambulance ride cost and a couple thousand to repair the bike. Woo hoo. I started a go fund me and it has generated 50 dollars so that's pretty cool. Just thought I'd rant for a min.

It was so crazy. Can not believe how fast it happened. Dude didn't even try to stop. I don't remember a whole lot but I do remember looking in my mirror seeing him right there. Didn't even gave time to do anything. That's a good thing. If I would gave had time to tense up I'm sure things would have been broken.

This is one of the many reasons why I stopped riding, I do miss it though.

Glad your ok! I know it really sucks about the money. I watched my IROC get stollen once and just had liability insurance. But to walk away or even just survive getting smashed into by a car while on a bike, your very lucky. And like lots of people, the reason I dont ride is stupid ass other people. People just suck!!!!

I'm glad you're ok, this happened to my brother. The driver said she didn't know the light was red and plowed right in back of my brothers bike. Just sucks people are so careless. Safe riding guys.

Well got paid on the bike. They totaled it out. Ca me out ahead. Waiting on medical bills and will get paid again. Sucks that the bike is gone but glad to be alive.
