Project#??? I lost count!

As much as Ive tried to contain myself and stick with 1 project (even though I have the Cobra, Model A, and my boys 86), I just couldn't help myself!

This car has sat around in limbo for several years now and Ive always thought of picking it up but never have. My buddy Raz bought it a little while back and has now decided to just go back down to his 1 race car. So I picked it up along with all the parts he had for it.

The car is an 89 Mustang Coupe, mini tubbed with a full cage, window net, and Kirkey seat. All the work done so far has been done by J&J Racing (Josh Ashley from here). The paint is in pretty nice shape but Im not a big fan of blue. My plans are to have it painted orange and fill and smooth under the hood. I may start on that tonight.

Along with the car, I picked up the rear end out of the Bomber that has chromoly tubes installed, all TRZ mounts, braced, 35 spline axles and lightened spool, 4.10 gear, and so on. Also the rear TRZ uppers and lowers, anti roll bar, and PST driveshaft. For wheels, it came with 1 pc alumastars up front with DS-2 tires. I will be picking up a complete PA Racing front suspension along with Flaming River rack and shaft and UPR bump steer kit this week sometime so it will be rolling.

Went out and started cleaning up under the hood last night. Ill be filling in holes and trying to smooth things out. Ran out of gas for the welder so Im on hold for a day or so. Im going to order the steel weld in ScottRod panels soon. Then maybe I can get it painted. Still haven't decided on a hood though. I hate the huge hoods! Id rather go with the Schoneck hood and front bumper extension before I start painting.

Im looking for a nice gray dash if anyone has one. Help a brother out!!! Also I needs gray quarter plastics, manual door panels, and anthing else I can get in gray for the interior.

Trying to debate on paint color. Im not a fan of the blue and I figure if Im going to build a car and possibly keep it, Might as well do it how I want and makes me want to keep it.

Ive been welding in the holes under the hood and cleaning things up. Removed the sway bar brackets and the motor plate brackets. Ill be ordering the ScottRod panels soon. Its not going to be perfect but it will look better than having all those holes!!

Got the 5/8's studs and a few other little parts today. Coil over mock up rods so I can get everything under the rear and see how it fits and wheel and tire size.

Those are my Cobra wheels. I wanted to use them so I'd know about what offset of wheel I would need. My fronts are polished so that's what I will buy for this one.

Got the PA Racing K member, A arms, coil overs, and steering parts all bolted in and the front on the ground. Figured why stop there... Put the rear end back up under with all new grade 8, 1/2"x13 bolts and set it on the ground. It now rolls and steers!!!

Made both aprons today. They still need trimmed up and welded in. Should turn out alright. Saves me $155 for the Scott Rod panels.
