Doesn't the Ford 79-82 4 spd Bell Housing adapt to a Tremec TKO transmission, or what year of Ford 4 speed transmissions? I'm searching to see if this info is even close to being correct.

If I can remember right the stock T5 bell housing has the lug for the tremec to bolt to but its not drilled. I have one at the house so I'll check later.
The bell housing from a ford SROD trans is the same. "Single rail overhead rod". It was a 3 speed plus overdrive.

I thought it was single rail over drive? Anyways, Rich is right. The hole in the T5 bellhousing is too big, the tremec bearing retainer just moves around in it causing the trans ears to break off. The SROD 79 to 83 bellhousing is the same as a tremec bellhousing. I have one if you need one.
You're right...brain fart on my part! lol

Thanks guys, You've confirmed what I was thinking. Correct me, if I'm wrong, but I believe the Ford Pt # D9ZC-6394.
Thanks Mike, I may take you up on your offer.
Thanks again, SBZ,

With this 79-82 SROD Bell Housing, will the 10.5" clutch still work?

I was always under the understanding that those bellhousings required the 10" clutch/flywheel setup. And when Ford went to 50oz balance thats when they switched to 10.5" clutches/flywheels

This morning, I got to thinking the same thing. I've never heard of a 10.5" disc with this bell. I'll prob. have to go with After-Market / Ford Racing, etc...

Yes. Flywheels are same tooth count, just drilled differently for the smaller clutch pattern. 10.5 works perfectly with matching flywheel. I have one of the pre 87 small pattern flywheels at the shop. It looks identical till you notice the clutch bolt pattern.

Good detailed info, Thanks Mike!
I'll most likely being using the Hot Heads Ford to Chrysler adapter plate. It's backing my 392 Hemi for a nostalgic '34 Ford Hot Rod build. It's not typical for this board, but it does consist of the Ford Mustang setup.

NXcoupe, you have a PM on your SROD bell housing.
