2015 Dirty Dozen Challenge Contenders

For anyone who wants to get involved post up a picture of your ride. Tell a little about it also if you'd like. Just to help some of us out knowing who all is in for some heads up racing to get on the list. Ill start. Others can follow along.

Mine is an 04 Cobra. Stock motor, T56, solid axle with 3.55 gears. It does have a 2.9 Whipple on 22lbs. Best so far has been 10.74@132. That was on 26x8.5 slicks spinning like crazy. Suspension work is taking place now to hopefully lower the 60 foot times. Kilkare is my track of choice.

You'll get it to come around! I know with the 2 valve cars, they bog real bad or spin. Its a fine line.

What's the story on this? My dad had one just like it even the same color when I was growing up. Always have liked a short bed ever since.

I bought it as a shop truck from a guy down out past Lexington. Its an original 4.3, with a 3 on the tree, AC, Manual brakes, Manual steering and roll up windows. I have way too much in it, but I dont see getting rid of it anytime soon. When I have the time, Ill be swapping in a LS of some sort with a T56 and NOT painting it.

what did you get Brian I bought a set of a new Mickey Thompson Pro bracket radials Full slicks with a radial shell I took it out over the weekend and played some so far I am very impressed

I got the 26x10 stiff sidewall Mickeys. With it being a 6 speed I wanted to try them out and see if the stiff sidewall really helps. I may try the new ones later on though.

The stiff sidewall does help if your weight transfer is right. I went from a 1.31 to a 1.26 60ft on my car with them. I still have them on it now. I think stick cars benefit more from them for some reason.

I'm going from a DR to QTP's. I need the softer sidewall to take some of the shock from a 2-step 5500-5800 turbo launch. I've got horrible 60's due to spinning bad or bogging.

Yeah they was the ones Chad had. Hated to buy new ones and them not work. Im thinking the plans are to try these and see how they do and if they aren't any better, step up to a 28x10.5 and swap gears. I have the 3.73 sitting here.

Yep. I'd call that a win in your column. Yeah, I know, lifes a bitch. It started pouring down rain a few hours after I posted I wasn't going. So I guess it wouldn't have worked anyway. I'm shooting for this thursday or next friday for sure. I finally got my home computer back from the repair shop, rather the replacement computer since mine took a shat. Now to reload all my passwords and get everything back to normal in my cyber world.

lol, figured you would. Runs like a bat outa hell for what it is. I need to yank the converter and have it repaired, then I'm going to turn the boost up a bit. I think it's got a lot left in it with some more boost, tighter converter, and some minor tuning for the increased boost. Can't wait.

Lol, yep, Rich's old car. He made me an offer we couldn't refuse. I want to get the converter right in the near future. I think I'm having alan pull it apart and fix what's messed up. He and another trans guy both said the same thing was wrong, so I think it'll be a quick fix. Also going to have the trans brake fixed on the valve body while it's apart. I think it'll be a blast to run it. Shooting for KK this week. Have to watch weather and see what's going on with setting up the dyno and my racks but I am busting ass to get it all lined out so I can get to the track. Been way too long.

I had my first and second race for the list last Friday... Lost to NXCoupe but beat Lambo. Hope to improve my times and Challenge up the list. My car is a 1997 Cobra DOHC stock engine. I have done a handful of bolt-on type mods and occasionally run a little nitrous. Manual t45 transmission and way too tall rear gear (3.73:1). But it is fun and I like banging the gears. so here are a couple of pictures... Loving the List Racing
