Friend of mine who is an old time FOMF and SBZ member from way back just got this little beauty recently as a roller.

Dont worry, the wheels are just temporary.

He bought as a roller as I stated, and it was pretty much gutted when he got it. He lowered it and is working some things out before its back on the road. Still has to C-notch the rear frame rails and install the fuel tank.

But what I was contacted to do, was help with installing the small block. It had an inline 6 in it originally and he wanted to put in a 302 he had. So we mocked up the center cross member with 1 inch spacers and then put the van on the lift and the engine/trans on a cart. The trans was bolted up and then the van was lowered onto the cart to put the engine at the exact angle and level it needed to be.

We had to cut and notch the cross member for the foxbody oil pan, and then to save time, we used some motor mount towers from a "Granny's Speed shop" RX7 v8 swap kit... and because it was on hand. We cut the towers off of that and mocked them up to the cross member. Used the low profile motor mounts as well. Got them where we wanted them and I tacked them in place. Pulled the cross member back out, welded them up and then boxed them in. Strong as an ox now.
