That is incorrect. ..the surface for the 1/8th mile is very nice. That track really needs the proper care and it would be awesome.

either way it has been neglected. Cracks are visible in the asphalt about 100 out or so when there in October. Hopefully these two DO give it the TLC and maintenance it has lacked.
I hear Dick was keeping some of the buildings and sold mineral rights to the gravel pit. But i may have heard part of the story.

Heard from a racer at work today that the guys have leased the place for 17 years. He went on to say how funny it was that Dick is 83 and agreed to a 17 year lease. Glad this place is going to get better in the coming years. Just being optimistic.

I look forward to see the outcome of this, great potential to bring this place to life as a national track.

Whats even cooler and it just dawned on me is that Rob Kropfeld's dad Jim Kropfeld was the pilot of the Miss Budweiser back in the day and currently runs or manages TriState Muffler after his dad passed, which is a great place to deal with.

I know, I went there a bunch. I had a business selling hemi and 440+6 H pipes, and his oldest son did them all up for me, and made the jigs. I came up with the originals for him to make the jigs and the bend cards. Used to be there two or three times a week back in the late 80's. Small world.

A friend of mine had the custom headers and full exhaust for his 66 F100 (351C 4V as in 4 barrel) all done there in the late 80's. It's all still holding up. He also ran a lower class of boat for a year of so and got advice from Jim from time to time. I love going there. Had three vehicles done there.

I need to take my ranger there and have him change up the exhaust sometime. I don't like that it's only 2.125 instead of the 2.5 I asked for and the mufflers I had are already rusting out so it'll be soon.
