Got another rear set coming in and putting drag radials on them. Car is currently in the process of getting a built tranny. Haven't decided what im going to do with the motor. Thinking about stroking it to a 418ci and putting a bigger Supercharger on it. Hoping for over 1000 rwhp.

Looks good pain in the ass to pull the trans out of these cars?

You could say that. I've done a few auto to manual swaps in a few fox bodies and they was much easier. The only thing left in it is the motor and I might go ahead and build it while the car is apart. Haven't decided yet.

Yes besides a custom cam

If you are aiming for 1000HP, build the engine.

Im definitely going to. Still need to decide what im going to do with the tranny. 6L80's aren't very reliable for making big power.

Everything is a pain in the ass to work on in a corvette.

go see my guys at rpm transmission in Daleville, they aren't that far and do a hell of a job.

RPM is on 53rd street in Anderson, Indiana now. That is who I would recommend on about any transmission build. Especially a 1000 horse Vette since they have about 4 or 5 of their own making that kind of power.

RPM is my first choice. Unfortunately they won't touch a 6l80. I wish they would.

My dad and I wanted to see if we could build a tranny so we ordered the clutches and tried it ourselves. We had to ship it off to have the valve body modified anyway. So we put everything together and shipped it to Century and they said everything was put together properly and everything was in specs. We actually took it apart and put it together probably 10 or more times. So from now on if the tranny or clutches fail we can build it ourselves and save thousands. Tranny should be here Monday. My next question is should I reuse my torque converter? Its a yank 3000 and only has 1000 miles on it but does have surface scratches. The clutches was completely destroyed and im sure there's build up inside. Ive drained it but I want to be completely safe.

I bought a few quarts of tranny fluid and kept pouring and draining the converter and then sprayed some brake cleaner in it until it stayed clear.
