So I traded my Paxton sn89 and am looking for a new setup. I like the novi SL, but also have a line on a vortech V1 T Trim. Keep in mind for the time being I just want to run 5-6 psi since I have a stock motor. Also if any of you have a kit for sale let me know. You can also text me @ 937-474-7330

Vortech isn't a bad way to go. Go air/air I\C if you can swing it also.

Go for it. Did you ge an intercooler kit with it? If not vortech kits are made to upgrade so you could do that down the road. Costs more but can be done in stages wiuth many of the Vortech kits I've seen on different websites.

Not going to happen on a fox. Thats modular stuff. No way to do it unless u have the discharge straight down. These rear discharge and have a very short pipe going to the intake unless its a pass side mount. Procharger is the way to intercoll a fox. This unless virtexh has released something ive not heard about.

I don't recommend supercharging any car with out some type of intercooler.

Whats the down side of not having an intercooler

High IATs for starters. Basically you will have to run less timing and have less overall power. A good conservative tune will also be critical to your engine living. I ran meth on a paxton car in the past. It worked, but I was always scared of the pump failing without me knowing it. If you plan to get serious with the car add the intercooler now. If its just a fun street car add the blower and get a good tune and run it. IMO 9-10 psi is not a crazy amount of boost with no IC.

I plan on just a fun street car for now, what are my options for a intercooler or cooler?

The intercooler removes heat from the compression process created by the SC that generates the increased pressure and volume. Hotter air means hotter O2 molecules. Hotter O2 molecules mean larger molecules. And larger molecules mean less O2 entering the combustion chamber. The end result less power as heat increases. An intercooler is placed usually between the outlet of the SC and the entry of the intake. As the air passes through this device Air or Water absorbs the induced heat and carries the heat away, making the compressed air cooler. The end result is more power and more consistent power as well as less heat induced into the engine that the engines cooling system has to battle getting rid of. Hope that makes sense. This phenomenon is often referred to as heat soaking. It can be harder on the engine. I have seen where some claim that its not as bad on systems running below 10psi. I don't know first hand, but like USMC said, I prefer to run one if the application will allow it.

Follow 2-tones advise and rol with it. Call Vortech when you're ready to up the boost and go intercooled. Just depends on how far a stock 302 block can go.

People have been s/c without forever. Yeah itakes more power safer but for 7/8 pounds on an effivient blower like a T you are fine.
