View Full Version : Anyone else having internet issues with TWC??

Been seeing the modem reset as many as 3-4 times in a given hour today. Been happening for a few days. Telephone also drops out when this happens. TV is rock solid. Same thing occurred a year or so back. Then it was fine until recently. Just curious of other TWC area folks are having similar issues.
Symptoms - Drop out of internet randomly. If you look at the Cable Modem you see it resetting. Telephone (if with TWC) also disconnects and takes 2-3 minutes to reconnect. If on phone when this happened you may hear them but they suddenly can't hear you or complete disconnect.
Thanks for the feedback. Most research through the TWC forums indicate it is something upstream that has to do with a server...blah, blah, blah.
I'm considering putting phone and internet with CBT. Anyone on the Fioptics setup? I will keep the TWC cable TV for now if I do change.

It does it for a week or so then is fine, they are doing upgrades. Mine was doing it a month ago.

We recently switched from TWC to Fioptics....huge improvement across the board and $30 cheaper per month. Way more channels, including Velocity. I'm not a TV watcher, but it was worth it for the $$$ savings, since I'm a cheapskate.

we have this new ubee bull crap and its horrible. Shit never works and weve had them come out to fix it over 5 times in a month... Just NOTHING works consistently

System upgrades should be completely invisible to the customer, if your having issues because of their upgrades then some one is fn up somewhere or it's bad system design engineering. I can tell you TWC is doing ALOT of system upgrades along the I75 corridor right now. We have been moving equipment for them occasionally for about the last 6 mos and they have plans for the next couple years in that area.

^^^ One would think., or at least system reboots would take place at 2:00am...then again I suppose that is when all the single drunk guys are getting home having struck out and surfing for porn or singles websites. LOL!
I am seriously considering going to Ma' Bell (CBT) Fioptics and trying their service but they only have 10Mbps service in our area currently with no date of increased 20Mbps option available. May cost a few more bucks to not have everythign bundled in one provider, but hte digital cable has been working well overall.

Depending on the service provider the maint window for doing any work that affects servce will start at either 10 or 12 and go through 6am. Ma Bell is without a doubt still the most reliable system out there.

TWC with 50Mbps service. Everytime CBT talks about their faster service, TWC just turns up the boost a little more :)

Depending on the service provider the maint window for doing any work that affects service will start at either 10 or 12 and go through 6am. Ma Bell is without a doubt still the most reliable system out there.
Why I suspect the issue (still having it) is more than an upgrade because it is happening between 10am - 2 pm. probably will end up going to Ma Bell. The run around with "phone techs" at Warner is pathetic. Nothing like trying to isolate a problem with a person reading from a script that can barely speak American English.

I was having issues for a while also. I had a tech come out and switch from the junk ubee router to the arris. It made a huge improvement.

^^^Will do that bfore I feel compelled to switch. Really hate having to spend an afternoon updating all my emails for all my accounts. Was not aware they had T3 higher service access at Tricounty in person. I have always gone down to Ridge and highland. Will check that out if it continues.

Not sure who mom made friends with there, but he votes in the precinct she was working. She is not happy with the new DVR format....TWC and others keep messing with a working thing to make it look new or like Netflix...
