POLL: Is it okay for bros to tan?

Like the title says I want to launch an informal poll. Is it okay for guys to artificially tan? Is it okay for the metrosexualization of the country to continue or is fake baking still blocked by guy code. With the winter coming to a close a great debate has arisen and I feel it should be resolved in the forum of public opinion.

First vote i will cast. NO. like the song says with deep spray on tans and creamy lotiony hands you cant grip a tackle box. Working/playing/boozing in the sun is fine but i say no to tanning beds or spray booths.

Tanning was popular back in the late 80's early 90's before the term metrosexual even existed. Getting some color is one thing, trying to look like one of those golden homo Jersey boys is a whole other discussion.

I don't use tanning beds any more. But I used to use the tanning bed when I was on third shift. It helped me sleep better on days when I was struggling with falling asleep. It also maximizes your time to use the time otherwise spent in the sun doing something else. A good tanning bed will provide 2 hours exposure for a 15-20 minute session.

Like Rick said. Screw what some dickhead thinks. Don't let them control your decision making. Unless you are spending every day of December in a tanning spa no one will know anyway. And so what if they do? Any guy who would be that observant of your skin tanning may well have homosexual tendencies to begin with. I'd be cautious of that person. :D

That was pretty funny. I'll say this, I haven't tanned in years but it sure does have an effect on the winter time blues.

a friend of mine goes up to Alaska every year he has to hit the tanning bed before he goes i guess it helps from getting sunburn

The main way that all animals produce Vitamin D, is from sun exposure. For those who work at night and sleep during the day, they can end up with too low a level, which cases a variety of physical and emotional well being problems. It is one of the factors that causes people to get depressed in the winter time.

Last winter my levels were low, so the doc wrote a script for 50,000iu. 1 a day for 30 days. There was a huge difference in the way I felt. I say get your vitamin D by whatever means necessary.
