anyone ever change a oil pump on a 2003 4.6 liter Crown Vic? and if you have how hard is it? its a Police Interceptor.

Timing cover and timing chains have to come off and it slides over the snout of the crank and bolts to the block

Oil pan has to come down as well, and the pick up tube bolts have to be removed from the bottom of the pump, so the pan essentially needs to come off unless you have surgeon like skills.

Like Mike said, the only way around this would be the engine out of the car and then it still will be a PITA.

Yeah forgot about the pickup but u might be able to raise the engine far enough to get the pan to a point that u could get to the pickup bolts. I've changed a foxbody oil pump with a stock k member by raising the engine and dropping the pan, it's almost like surgery but it can be done
