Had my power stroke for about 3 years and have not seen very cold weather since then.
Looks like some pretty cold weather coming and wanted to know what temperature you add anti gel to the fuel and what brand you are using.
Thanks

I have been using amsoil fuel treatment but never used an anti gel. Where do you buy the Schaefers?

Right there on their website....

Power Service is another one that I have used in the past, with good results.

May also want to check where you buy your fuel. We buy through Quick Fuel and it is pre-treated. Never had any problems.

Yes quick fuels are all treated I used to fuel that place, Tell me where you fuel up and I can tell you if we put additive in there diesel fuel when I unload,Not everyone does be specific on location not just Bp,Marathon,etc.. Because its hit or miss on what station will pay the extra money for the jug of additive that treats 7500 gallon of diesel.

I work in oxford and buy fuel at krogers and sometimes buy fuel at Valero in Camden Ohio too. If I knew for sure where it has additive in Oxford that is where I would buy fuel in the winter.

I've owned 6 or 7 diesel pickups and have never had a gelling problem in Ohio.

That is good to here. Forcast is for a low of 2 degrees on Tuesday night here. I don't think is has been that cold since I bought my truck and I drive it to work every day.
Just noticed the topic says duel instead of fuel. My fingers are to big for this phone and the screen is to small.

You may have never had a a gelling problem but its like an insurance thing, You wear a seatbelt but more than likely never want to be in a wreck.I would highly reccomend adding additive.

I have never worried about putting anything other than amsoil fuel treatment in it but we have had two fairly warm winters since I switched to a diesel. I will be putting some kind of anti gel in tomorrow when I fill it up. Going to be a cold week and a lot of cold nights this coming week.

I don't wear seatbelts either, personally I don't like putting any additives in the fuel unless absolutely necessary. Infact the only time I have ever had a gelling problem was in a big truck years ago buy Sumerset, PA.
