2005 Yamaha R1 winter price?

I got a text yesterday from a buddy wanting to sell his 2005 r1 with 12,500 miles. No scratches or anything and a slipon exhaust. What would a good price be considering its heading into winter?

Clean title? Ever been down? Are the slip ons the only mods? What brand slip ons? What color? Maint up to date? Tires? Valves need checked right around that mileage, has that been done?

Need a whole lot more info, but I'd guess he'd be lucky to see $5-6k this time of year.

Good deal $5-6k is enough info. I'm getting it slightly cheaper lol Slip on is only mod and never been down. Color is blue. Valves haven't been checked. Clean title

Getting that for less than 5 is probably a pretty decent buy. Not exactly apples to apples but I just picked up an 02 GSXR 1000 for 4500. Bike was spotless with 2100 miles and bone stock down to the original tires though. Most my friends sold their bikes over the last few years and I've been kinda a lone wolf. I will def hit you guys up in the spring

Yep. Original owner and was an older guy. Bike still had all the reflectors on it and the big mud flap rear fender wasn't even hacked off. Poor bike doesn't know what's about to happen to it. I'm not exactly easy on them. Lol

I love them too. I think the 01-02 1000 is the best wheelie riding bike ever made and I've had or at least rode about everything in the last 15 years. My 02 is Blue and white. The black and silver was the alternate color in 01.

That's awesome. It's such a sweet bike. I actually bought one brand new back 2003 as a left over. I beat it to death for two seasons then bought an 04. I'm really happy to have found another 02 that looks like the one I took off the show room floor a decade ago.

You guys have me wanting to get another bike . My personal favorite was the black and silver 05 gsxr 1000 . I thought it was the best bike Suzuki had built . I had an 01 1000, 04 1000 and then the 05 1000.

Heres mine the day I got it home last month still bone stock. So far I put a Yosh Tri Oval and a titnted windscreen on it. I just picked up a spare set of wheels this weekend that im going to have Kenny on here powder orange to match the "GSX-R" and "1000" decals.

Thx. Pretty much done modding it, maybe different exhaust to change things up.

Thanks, I love the undertail too. Walters a hater but there's nothing like a big booty! I'm about done as well. Have a few more cosmetic things and if I can find a full titanium graves or akra exhaust used on the cheap I may do that as well.

OP, the more I think about it with that mileage the chain is probably close to needing replaced.
