Well finally got my dad on the mustang bandwagon... this is his first mustang since his 79 mustang pace car back in the 80s he's in love
its a 2014 leather, drag pack and a bunch of other options. Slightly different from his 79!

yea I was the first one to floor it lol, ive driven Several new ones but all 6 speeds. hell one was even a roush stage 2 car, but I can deff say if I ever buy one it will be an auto!

The maunual trans in those cars are garbage if you plan on doing any racing. ive got 2 buddys right now with 6spd cars one absolutely destroyed 3rd gear with 13k miles on it. and the others 5th gear is out with 16k miles. Even the salesman said they are junk

Are they at stock power? I'm at 12k on 6 speed with stock clutch, 7k of those miles are with around 600whp going through it.

Yup! The one that destroyed 3rd is completely stock went a 12.70 on street tires. Other car had a boss intake and axel back

1.7 60s and 12.60-70s on a completely bone stock car. I'd say they could drive the car

The manual trans are garbage no doubt. Cool purchase though for your dad, Ford did a good job on the stock wheels for the 2013 and up, I like every one ive seen.

Besides the t56 which manual Ford car trans has not had issues around or over 400+whp? I'm sure I will b**** when my trans goes, but its really hard to say a trans is junk because it doesn't hold up to the beating and the extra horsepower I'm putting through it.

I am making 575/505 estimated by the package claim on mine currently and it seems to be fine so far. Almost 8K on the car in 14 months of ownership. But that doesn't mean I am sold on this Getrag. If I had it to do all over again I would have picked up a 13 with an auto OR gone with an 07-09 GT500 or 03/04 terminator. I picked up the Roush package phase 1 because they offer an extended powertrain warranty on it which I DID purchase simply because of the Getrag. Had the car been an auto, I would have picked up the biggest Roush package they offer and said screw the warranty. Having driven them both, I give credit to Ford on this auto. It hits great and seems to be doing quite well. Had there been a mustang comparable to Oscar on the lot with an auto, I would have gone auto this time. But sounding two faced, there is nothing as fun as going through the gears manually on a two lane highway out in the sticks somewhere. Select-a-shift just doesn't compare to finding gears even with a tune.

So to conclude Kevin...good on your dad for going with the auto...especially if he lets you drive it, because we all know it will make it to the drag strip with you behind the wheel at some point. LOL!!!!!!!! Tell him to enjoy it and that the color is one of my favorites. The track apps option is a blast as well.
