My fox has bbk shorties, h pipe, with 40 series... and currently has tips... trying to decide whether or not I should keep them or take them off..... they are clamp on so if I don't care for it w/o I could always put them back.... ( and is legal? )

Chromed or stainless tips look good and sound great coming out the back. If you take off the pipes and put turn downs on it, it will be louder inside the car. Sounds good for a while and then becomes annoying.

If you are trying to get every bit of e.t. out of the car...ditch the tailpipes. If you drive it regularly, put the tailpipes on. Huge difference in noise inside the car!

The other problem if you ditch the tips and you have a O/R H or X pipe and your doors have bad seals or your decklid then you get the fumes in your car. I had this problem on my old GT. I had to replace both door seals, after a half hour drive you would have a screaming headache from the fumes. Just another thought.

I really like the lx tail pipes not so much on the gt. but yea you may get some fumes in the car. It will give you a headache and make you sleepy at first but you'll build up a tolerance to it after a few months. Lol

lol thanks guys..... the plus is though that the tips are clamp ons, so if I did get tired it would be easy fix.
