Is there such a thing as GT40 heads with 2 bar markings? I know about the regulars and P's being 3 and 4 bars but I have a set with 2 bars. They came with a 351 roller I bought and the guy said they were GT40 marine heads that he picked up at the Columbus all Ford swap. They also have "MM" or "WW" depending on how you read it marked on them. The exhaust ports are def quite a bit bigger than a stock set of heads but the intake ports are the same size as a stock set I have laying around here. They are really nice heads with only 200 miles on them since being completely redone. They have S.S. valves, double springs (unknown lift rating), new seats and 1.6 rockers on them. But I think they may choke a 351 out a little. I googled my tail off every way I could think of and only found one really old post somewhere where a person had talked about 2 bar GT40's but mentioned no info about the details of them. Anyone have any knowledge of these?

If they are gt40 heads the intake ports should be quite a bit larger than a e7

From the official mustang 5.0 technical reference and performance handbook, the F0JE-AA cylinder heads had 2 vertical bars cast into them. They were used in 5.0 and 5.8 marine applications. I do not see anything stating they are GT40. Are the valves larger? From the chart they eithe have 67.5 to 70.5cc combustion chambers or 60.6 to 63.6cc chambers.

Ok, well I hit google and found that all the marine crate motor heads are condidered GT40. Everything I find says they are identical to regulate GT40 irons, except the combustion chambers might be larger

Nice work COOP thank you for the help. I will have to get one of those handbooks. I posted this on Corral too and got this response from over there. Seems to match a lot with your findings.

Yes there was F3JE-AA/CA casting. The J means industrial. It is considered a GT-40 head It had two bars. The exhaust needs a little port work. The combustion chambers are slightly bigger. There was a tread talking about them having Manley severe duty valves and crane retainers and locks from the factory.
I have 2 in my garage.

I will try and get a picture up of them soon for everyone to see what we are talking about.

Hit the jackpot on some good GT40 info including my "MM" industrial versions. Read this thread on Corral.

Yea, sounds like a Marine application, they usually have much lower compression....
