I think I got the name of the show right...

Anyone following this series? Interesting I must say, but to call the majority of them "street cars"? Lets see now (aside from The Farm Truck)Trailer to the race site, trailer home, trailer to a test area, trailer home...TRAILER, TRAILER, TRAILER!!! (think about Brady Bunch).

And when was the last time you could set up along side a major highway at 3:00 am, light the whole area up with portable generated night lighting, and run uncapped setups over and over without so much as a hint of bacon in the air? You boys in Middletown would love a setup like that I'd bet...not inferring that street racing goes on there of course.;)

Interesting to watch yes, but for real no. Stupid when you can go to the track for $20 or so and run without fear of cops? Definitely

I've been watching it since the start and I don't beleive any of them are street cars except the farm truck and I have seen it in person at pinks all out at gateway and it ran 10's, I'd say they race at a shut down airstrip or something of the sorts.

THe debate about a street car has been beat to death...

I just like watching it bc seeing a 8 sec car hook on pavement is pretty cool...

They said most of the filming was done in 40 degree temps.

It was said, its also in the contract that all of the cars had to be there every weekend for filming no matter what it cost, to have it fixed and ready...

Thats why you see the guys bend over backwards to get it done throughout the week...

Except for one time in Bowling Green, where a guy brought something on a trailer, the only place I remember seeing that happen was in Chicago.

That's what I thought. Street racing in an area setup for filming crews to make the series. Seems like a great group of guys. They take their lumps when they lose, man up for the most part, and shake hands no matter the outcome. Some fun chit-chat but all in fun. I loved Farm Trucks side kick comment the other night when he said, "No what's on the last page of a Camaro tech manual? A bus ticket!" The guy with the gen 3 laughed almost as hard as he did. That's called having fun and being light hearted about it. I like to see that side of the show. They all have very nice cars no doubt.

That's just amazing. Coming from the early 80's era and racing dad's truck (if one would call it that) off traffic lights on Glenway Ave in the early 80's, I can't begin to imagine street racing at this magnitude. It's mindboggling to me. Seems it would be simpler just to go to the track, but I guess eluding the cops is part of the thrill. Back then if a guy rolled in with a 70 Chevelle running a 396 or a 66 Fairlane GT 390 they were street gods. The cars needed nothing more than headers, a four barrel, and a highrise intake to be considered a bad running street car back then. IF you were running a cam atop the other mods you were the cool dude everyone wanted to model after. The 70's and the energy crisis really took the starch out of putting HP in cars thanks Jimmy Carter. Sure glad they have turned that corner and come back to making HP and being efficient now.

I love it when they bust people doing test hits in the old police car , to me that is a bunch of friends having a good time and nobody getting butt hurt about it. I think we all belonged to a group like that long ago.

That was a riot. A friend of mine had a red light he used in a light show for a local rock band. We used to use it a couple of times to blow through red lights. Thought it was funny. So then we were going to use it to pull over good lookin girls but then chickened out for fear of getting busted for acting like under cover cops. Guess there was too much Berretta, Kojak, and Starsky N Hutch in those days.

Thing is Doc, Murder Nova and Daddy Kane have all said they never claimed the cars to be street cars, just street raced cars...

When I thought again about the name of the show later it dawned on me it was Street Outlaws which properly labels what they do regardless of the cars. Some times your eyes see one thing and your mind conceives another.

MY wife of course hates the show so I watch it in the mornings when she is at work.

One day you're eye ballin' 22 year olds counting the days you'll be 21 and can chase them at the local club and the next thing you know you are fighting off the urge to buy a convertible muscle car, and wondering if Cialis is really better than Viagra or if they even work at all. My wife says pretty much the same thing to me! LOL!!! So I change channels if she sees me watching it and then catch it later when she is at work. Regardless of the drama and why you watch, you have to admit the security raid stunt was pretty darn funn. I'd laughed myself silly after cleaning my drawers out had I been the butt of a gag like that.

That's probably the same car Rick is talking about. When we went to Mobil 1 Ford Challenge, we would go into St. Louis at night. I can't remember the street name, but a lot of guys would meet up at the Hooters that was in front of Home Depot. That car was a blown alcohol car and sounded nasty.

That Farley guy (as most of those guys) must have a bottomless stash of cash and endless source from where it comes. Did anyone notice the 66 GT350H (may be a clone but I doubt it) and mulitple 67,68 stangs (yes plural) sittin in his garage...not to mention a privately owned dynojet and multiple rotary lifts? Life is good in oil country it appears.

I thought tony worked a day job at a restoration shop . He wears a shirt with the business name on it . Thought it was one of the bigger restoration shops out there , just cant remember the name.
