Dude you have owned more cars than anyone on here with maybe the exception of Beefcake, and that may even be debated. What level/type of "FUN" are you looking for? Cruising fun? Crap your pants power fun? Girls want ot ride in your car fun? People covet your car fun? What?
Go buy a mustang and be done with it. You know that's what's eating you. It's like having a part of your anatomy removed when the garage is void of one. You can't replce it with anything. Trade that vette in on a 07-09 GT500 and tweak it up a little. Then you'll be having fun. Or get an S197 and supercahrge it and then you will be having fun. OR get a terminator and lightly mod it and then you will be having fun. OR go get a huge loan, by a all numbers matching 1967 GT500 Shelby...AND THEN YOU WILL BE HAVING FUN...and nightwarea on people scratching it and/or how you will make the payments.
:D:D:D
Not Getting Rid Of The Vette.... Lol Fun Driver. Something Super Charged Would Be Fun.

If you didn't insist on a back seat, I'd recommend a Miata. They're a blast.

Supercharge that midlife crisis car...7K would cover that with no issues. Take it to Craig and let him put an Edelbrock or Magnesun or Procharger on it. OR a WHIPPLE. Saw one of those on a Camaro lately. Looked nice.
Just stay away from those euro-cars.

So what do you have your mind made up on that you are waiting for someone to say?
Lol.. Not A Thing. I'm Not Really In A Hurry. The S/C Sn95 Cars On Svt Have Me Thinking About A Road Trip. And A Three Series Bmw Possibly An M3 Would Be Something Different. But A Built Fox Or Gt Sn95 Or NewEdge Could Work. Wouldn't Hate Another Cobra Either. Don't Know If I Want Old 5.0 OR Mod Dohc. Love A 5.0 H/c/I With Mac Exhaust. 65 Era Mustang. Just Don't Know. when I See It Ill Know. thats Why I Need You're Eyes While Your Out.

99-04 GT manual. Slow as balls, but I've never had more fun in a car. Leather interior is nice, it's a Fox chassis, so suspension parts are plentiful and reasonable, and they are rock solid reliable.
SRT4 as well, but the interior is cheap as shit.

Not sure if you've ever owned a turbo MR2, but IMO it's one of the most fun cars to drive. They're really tough to find now though in decent shape. My old 91' with a boost controller, open dp, and air intake went a 13.0 @ 105.
I had a MR2 same as James, however mine was a stock turbo, still one of the most fun cars I have owned!!!

I get on there but most things I am finding are really far away. Some really nice deals on there too.
The mr2 looks fun but I have a fun 2 seater car now. I want something with a back seat. Thank you though.

I have a "Stock Stage 3" SRT4 ACR that may be for sale. 335HP on 93, around 380 on 110. Looks, sounds, and drives like a stock SRT4. It's a load of fun, especially when someone in a "fast" car decides they are going to pick on the Neon. Makes cool turbo sounds too!

I just thought of a car you have never owned that might be in that price range. Remember the VW Thing? Imagine you and the family cruising in one of those painted orange with the top down. Put some chrome truck wheels on it and BAM!!! That would get you some looks....

Find an RX8 6 speed (can be had less than $3k, and slap one of the big 65-70mm turbo kits on it. Fun car to drive, sounds cool, and 4 door is better on insurance.
I thought about the rx8 but have heard nothing but bad. Motors needing rebuilt all the time. Sad because the rotory can be a fun car.

The reason you hear bad things are because of bad owners. I had one, and only had one issue, that I caused myself because I was in a hurry.
If you start the car just to move it really quick, your supposed to hold the throttle down to at least 6500 rpms for 30 seconds before shutting it off. I forgot to do this once and flooded the engine. It took an hr to fix that mistake.
I go to the auctions looking for the no-start condition because 9 times out of 10, engine is just flooded, and you can get the car for next to nothing. Plus if that fails, LSX swap
what was the hour long fix? I heard apex seals go bad pretty often.

basically what you have to do, is pull the fuel pump fuse, and hook the car up to a battery charger. You crank the car over for a 1 minute, wait a few minutes, and repeat. It doesn't necessarily take an hour, but I prefer not replacing the starter from over use lol. You could pull the plugs, but with all the factory plastic, it wasnt worth it.
i may drive one and see. I think I have one on my lot.
