Cincy Street Wars @ Edgewater (starts June 26)

This was all over FB yesterday, figured I'd add on here for everyone that doesn't know yet.

Street car racing event back at Edgewater on Wed nights, starting June 26th. Three car classes (index 13.00 & 11.50 and a heads up class) and two bike classes (Big/small engine). Rules are a little tighter to weed out "Race cars". Should be fun.

I'm sure someone will post up all the specifics but wanted to at least get the word out.

Last streetcar shootout I went to turned into a bracket race. I was stoked till I found out that part an they put me in a 7.50 index an shouldve been the 6.50 index. I'm not a bracket Guy so didn't know how much I needed to back out to slow down. Is this one of those bracket deals? An how well does this track work? I've been playing at Webster an kanaugha so used to limited traction

He needs some. :lol: In all seriousness this class was put together for true street cars. Yes we can drive some stupid fast cars on the street but this was not what these guys were looking for. I'm guessing it will be a mid to high 9 sec. car that wins. Maybe a low 10. Poor track conditions and radials doesn't always work out for the faster car.:bigthumb

Well my car fits this an those were 1/8 mi indexes. Just drag radials no dot slicks? I know my car hated my 275s. This tighter than nmra true street.

I'm not crying asking a simple question can run et street bias not radial. Put radials on urs an try come out @6500 w a stick car. Yes a few will chime in on their factory stock cars they do. They also running special clutches an more in suspension than my set up an I run relocated uppers an the full set up. Its true street driven car race which I am but I don't have radials. Every other true street event allows them an weeds out trailer queens w a cruise prior an short cool down w hotlapping. This is a non issue for me I'm all motor an run 170* on a hot day in town traffic. I already sold my radials to 700hp04mystic an am not buying more cause I was waste my time on my set up an don't wanna drop a ton

I launch at 6500+ regularly on 275 BFG's, and no, I don't have a "special clutch", it is an off the shelf organic ACT clutch, and I have regular off the shelf Team Z rear suspension with coil springs, and stock front suspension.

I hook up just fine at Edgewater.

Both are fine, rules state it must have "DOT stamped on sidewall". :bigthumb

Edgewater is normally decent for 40 - 60 ft. Down track is where you will have issues with big horsepower cars on a radial or small slick.

I hook up just fine at Edgewater.one thing I've seen is your body style car will hook dramatically btr than my coupe. I've seen these cars in the 4v variety pretty much dead hook w a 150 shot on nittos on street. I have wat u do also but all the front too. Maybe my spec3 is too much but just fine w slicks. I'm sticking w bias an thank u that's all I wanted to know.BTW our local tracks I tried my radials on are no where near the tracks u have over there. I'd love to see a 6500+ launch on radials hook there cause on 28x9s all I get is 1.49 60s an took to another local an pulled wheels

If it makes a difference I emailed one of the cincy street mods. Any DOT tire is now approved. I was curious because I run the MT pro DR and didnt want to buy new tires.

Other than that their runles are very tight. If the weather holds off I am taking my Mustang on pump gas.

I plan on going to watch. Here's the changes they posted on facebook.

-ANY DOT TIRE WILL BE ALLOWED, this INCLUDES ET STREETS now. If it has a DOT number on it, ITS ALLOWED (This was previously a conflict with our insurance policy and has been resolved now)

-Suspension rules have been loosened up to allow more cars to compete

-A vehicles headlights and turn signals are no longer required to work off the factory style switch, toggle switches are allowed to control the functions. Horns are also no longer required

-$20 PAYOUT to SECOND place has been added, to cover the runner-up's entry costs for the night

-A racer may only enter ONE class per night. Multiple cars, per racer, in multiple classes are NOT ALLOWED.

-"CHASE IS A RACE" rule has been added for OUTLAW and BIKES ONLY. If a car jumps the light at the start, you need to sit still if you want them DQ'd for it. If this happens, video footage will be reviewed to confirm the jump. If you CHASE the person who jumped the start, you forfeit this right to DQ the person who jumped the start.

-If a racer jumps in the 13.0 or 11.5 Index classes, they will still be automatically disqualified after video confirmation has been reviewed. NOTHING has changed for the rule in these two classes.

Let me tell you, the track is slick as shit... I ran when it was prepped on street tires and hooked better than I did last week on drag radials. I dead hook on the street with the same radials

My car hooks at Tristate, so I am not worried about hooking at this race...lol.

Unfortunately the extreme rain just left my area and I don't want to drive on DR's on wet roads. Hopefully next Wed is dry.

The white evo and the new orange Camaro was in the finals I think. I only saw them race once and the white evo won. But I left after the outlaws finished so I don't know if they raced anymore or not. Don't hold me to this info. Just a quick recollection from a tired mind of what happened. Lol
