Got it cheap, been in a couole dirt bike and honda trannys, are these as straight forward? All it has to do is hold 300hp on the street and a few track runs.
Try checking YouTube. There are several T5 related videos posted, including teardowns and re-builds.

There's nothing to it man I bought the hanlon video and rebuilt mine about a month ago, piece of cake just make sure it is shimmed correctly as close to 0 endplay on the mainshaft and countershaft.

You have to be mindful of buyin junk T5's..... depending on when it was made, certain parts are no longer reproduced for them. And you won't know til you try to find them. Typically earlier cases are the ones that have the discontinued parts.

Make sure it's for a 5.0 too. My buddy bought a notch with a "new" t-5 and after destroying 2nd, 3rd AND reverse we tore into it and found it was a 4cyl t-5 I THINK the input shafts are different sizes so that should be an easy way to tell without tearing into it.

I watched it be pulled from a 94 5.0. A guy installed it without a pilot bearing so it needs a main shaft. I'm going to buy the frpp one.

Came out of a 94 5.0. The guy who owned it before put a clutch in it and didn't put the pilot bearing back in so the main shaft broke or something.

The trans will sit back further a decent amount compared to a fox. May be more comfortable as far as shifter location. Now with a 94 trans in a fox I'm not sure if you have to run the 94 clutch cable or the fox cable.
If you are changing the main shaft, just throw one for a fox in it and you should be good to go with using all fox parts

Does it need the whole mainshaft or just a input shaft, mainshaft runs all the way through the trans, the input shaft just slides on the end of the mainshaft which is what goes into the pilot bearing

Should just be the input shaft and need a new bearing and retainer, its going in my 95 and I don't really feel like finding a bell housing amd stuff. Ill need a clutch and flywheel though. And I can't find a h pipe hanger for the trans
