Figured I would finally put up my build since I am right in the middle of it. I will start off with what it looked like when I brought it home. 19" Rims and all.

Then I traded the 19"s for some Cobra R's

Also got a set of 96 Cobra Wheels.

Then bought a very gently used set of Flat Black FR500's 18X9 Fr & 18X10 RR off of here. This is how she sits.............. or sat.

ok so here is what it initially looked like when I removed the motor

And after some bondo on the passenger side (half ass job not done right from previous owner) and a fresh coat of paint. Still not perfect but better

http://i384.photobucket.com/albums/oo282/furiouslyfaster07/2013-05-28204832_zpsec75109f.jpg (http://s384.photobucket.com/user/furiouslyfaster07/media/2013-05-28204832_zpsec75109f.jpg.html)

Around were the intake went was all chewed up but now its smoothed out with bondo lol

http://i384.photobucket.com/albums/oo282/furiouslyfaster07/2013-05-28204839_zpsd7c681db.jpg (http://s384.photobucket.com/user/furiouslyfaster07/media/2013-05-28204839_zpsd7c681db.jpg.html)

This should work until I am ready to just redo the front clip. And this is were I am at. Just finishing up some small things. Me and Jesse put in the fuel pump the other night so won't be long til the new engine finds it's home.

Can't wait to see this thing run/drive.... very close combo to what will eventually be done to my '94 when the motor quits.... if it quits lol

furiouslyfaster
06-06-2013, 09:34 AM
we can help it quit.......... j/k Hope to get the new engine brought to me soon so I can start putting stuff back on the engine. Going to sandblast the accessory brackets this weekend and paint them pretty much the same color as the intake.

Ever get the bolt out?

furiouslyfaster
06-06-2013, 07:35 PM
No and I can feel one of the bolt heads holding the alternator on starting to twist. So probably will have two that I have to get out. Gonna see if my dad will help. If anything just drill it through and use a nut on the end. Be nice if I could just find a used bracket cheap, but o well.

I have actually thought about doing this. Just haven't gotten around to it. Figured I might test it with plasti-dip just incase lol. I got my accessory brackets sandblasted tonight so tomorrow I think I am going to work on putting stuff back onto my new motor like injectors, and stuff. I will get some more pics soon. I know we all love pictures.:bigthumb

Instead of paint just buy some red pinstriping and stick it on there to get an idea. I know they make all different width pinstriping.

Came sooooooo close to firing this up on Saturday and as I was filling up the coolant I heard some water dripping from the motor and turns out I have a leak coming from the lower intake right behind the thermostat housing. So I got me a new gasket and RTV and going to try that again. Should have fixed it yesterday but I was in a "Whatever I touch on this car I will probably mess up" kind of mood. So I watched duck dynasty and the walking dead..... Gonna try and tackle it tonight. Just gotta get my self pumped again.

So my car hates me and I somehow managed to break a Grade 8 Bolt off in the head when I was torquing it to about 20ft lbs. It snapped so effortlessly and I am not sure why. Gonna try and use an easy out and chase all of the threads with a tap. Anybody else ever have this much trouble putting a lower intake on? So frustrating.

09-11-2013, 10:43 AM
Every thing else has gone fairly well and smooth, but there are always hiccups somewhere on these big jobs so i'd say you got pretty lucky so far. Hopefully we'll get this figured out. My batteries are charged so I'll be out there tonight if you will be.

Might wanna buy stock in Fel-Pro though lol

So I got the bolt out without using an eazy out. I was poking at it with a flat head screwdriver and it started moving so I worked it until it finally came out. So I am going to chase the threads on all of the holes and try again probably tonight. Wish me luck on something that should be simple. lol

So I haven't done anything on the car this weekend, but I was trying to find some grade 8 bolts for the lower intake that were made in America. I looked at Lowes, Home Depot, and Tractor Supply and they all have the same stuff that is packaged in the US with bolts made in china, and a few other places I cannot pronounce. Anybody know were to get good grade 8 bolts or should I just get the ARP bolts for the lower intake. I am just to the point now were I cringe everytime I torque down a bolt and I just want a good bolt. The last Grade 8 Bolt I broke felt like it just broke way to easy.
