Okay so I have been lucky enough to have never had to buy a transmission for any of my Mustangs. Just wondering if there was anything I should specifically look for when going to buy one. I know with dealing with people through Craigslist that 90% of them are not going to be honest so I figure I should try to get some info on where to start. Anyone have any good tips? Me and my bank account would appreciate it! :)

Did you try Trestler auto parts in Milford ? In the past they have had some 3650 and t45. I bought a 3650 there a few years back for $800.

The bad part is u really won't be able to tell if the synchros are any good unless its in a car cause it will go in gear even if they are wore out while nothing is moving

Man I have always been skeptical about that, I wouldn't, I would just buy a new one an bite the bullet

If I had the cash for that I'd do it....

90% of used transmissions are junk. Unless its in a vehicle and can be tested assume its junk on the floor. Even had bangers burn me before.BUYER BEWARE.

There is no sure fire way to tell if a transmission is good without it being in the car so u just have to take a chance
