I took it out for a drive while I was over there today. Brian said it was okay. Has a little vibration in the front end @ 160 on the bypass going into that left bend just before the exit to go to Kroger. The Milford Cops are still looking for the car but I got it back to its spot in the back before they saw it so it should all be fine. never mind the rub marks from the guard rail, they just add character.:D

This is going to open a can of worms.......but do you still consider it a "street car" with that idle??

I dont think idle determines a car from being a street car lol

Agreed....but it can make it a pain to drive. At least for us old folks.

Terry...didn't realize it wasn't tuned yet , sounds good though !!

Meet Dorothy

http://new-used-ford-cars-trucks-for-sale-bankruptcy-special-financing.com/dorothy11.jpg

I'll be running Dorothy in SST for the MD race this weekend and Norwalk as well. The blue car I will be running in the Coyote Shootout in Norwalk. After that, back to SST with the car, unless we decide to make the switch to Renegade.....

I'll have a driver for Dorothy for the last 2 races...

Whats dorothy run?

Most run in the 10's after a vortech/paxton or procharger kit, and exhaust mods on good DR's or slicks. Keep in mind that the 302 Coyote engine does not have forged internals like the 4.6-32V termi. You have to step into the Boss 302 setup to get that. Tony D on here has gone 9.92 and even into the 9.8's on his boss302 block setup. I believe exrider has a made a few passes in the mid 10's with his standard shift GT stock block setup running a vortech package and ALL STOCK exhaust. He has since done some mods so we will hopefully see some new numbers soon. firestang70 runs NA and I am not quite sure what all he has done but with his GT block - auto he has gone high 11's or better. As for me...poor old stock green car guy, GT block - manual shift, I am just a struggling 12.77 low ET car on street tires. All stock aside from exhaust and a shifter.

I was low 11s shifting in mid 6k range. Mid 10s sounds good though lol hopefully I make it to edgewater tonight to try to hit 10s!

My bad boss. Thought that car was alreaady running 10's. THought I had read taht Wortech mods along with exhaust took them into the 10's on DR's or slicks. I recant my speculation on the Vortech mod, but was present when Tony went high 9's in his Boss block Vortech setup.

You are correct, I went 9.90 the day we hung out. Then two weeks later went 9.84 at a different track with the same setup.

I am sure Beefcake will go easy mid/low 10's with Dorothy.

I don't think we'll have problems with 10second et's out of the car

on the new car, we have a new engine combo, kinda keeping details on the DL til after the shootout though.

AS far as the ford block, we did crack the valley in it.

Sounds to me like you need a guy who has driven redfirepearl colored cars to drive that car for ya. Make you an offer you can't refuse. I haven't had much experience with putting a car in D and stomping the guts out of the go pedal on the green light , but I'm sure I can catch on fast..LOL!
