Looks clean, I would lower it and do the rest of the exhaust for sure....

I would throw some 4.10 gears in there and a good converter and leave it auto maybe a nitrous kit

No turbo. Not yet. I want to do long tubes and finish up with full 2.5 with the slps. Gears will definitely be happening soon. What size shot would be safe but fun?

lower, gears, mid pipe, tune.

My buddy who works fkr adam at s&m said a tune won't do much on a stock set up
slow86fiveoh
03-21-2013, 05:24 AM
Spray the balls off of it a 125-150 wet kit and a tune shouldn't hurt it

looks good. cant go wrong with gears and a 150 shot wet.

03-21-2013, 07:48 AM
I would say a150 shot but that factory auto will probably hate you lol

Throw a good rebuild on that auto with a good valvebody and a converter and u will be happy, banging gears is fun but it's hard to beat a good auto
chrisb1961
03-21-2013, 08:23 AM
i disagree wit the fact that its hard to beat a good auto. id rather drive the slowest manual trans car than have an automatic... but as they say. it takes different strokes for different folks

I've had 5 speeds and autos and I can shift a stick car but I had more fun in my auto cars, good converters get u out of the hole, 0 missed shifts, easier on suspension if u don't run a transbrake, not as much fine tuning on the suspension to get the car to hook unless ur running crazy power, and unless u are really making some power there aren't any wear parts, my buddy runs a PA c4 in his Windsor powered 02 gt that runs 10.28 w/o transbrake and it hasn't been freshened up in the past 6 years and it's consistent

Theres just something about ripping second while the wheels are in the air bringin it down and blasting the rest of the way down the track to me that is alot more fun. but like i said to each their own

Manual all the way, seem to be more funny to be also like the way it sounds when shifting

My vote would be to lower, re-gear, throttle body/intake and tune. Some black out parts (tails etc) too.

Just do the normal and a tune

So far I have springs on the way. Light covers, and I have a set of gt40p's and a e303 in line. Converter will have to wait. And idk if I said this already or not but once the auto blows apart or starts slipping ill be getting a t5. Looking for a set of long tubes and x pipe right now, preferably used. Aiming for high 13's before gears.

Well..got the motor apart. Thiking about just pulling it and throwing freah rings and bearings in it bc I never wanna tear a motor apart in the car again lol
I'm trying to find exhaust, I bought a trick flow track heat intake last week, came with a 75mm tb, 75mm maf, cai, 24lb injectors, fpr and gauge and a bunch of other stuff. Should be together by this weekend.

Major set back. Heads got noisy, next thing ya know I heard a nice big crack. 4 broken rockers, 3 bent oush rods, and atleast 6 broken springs. I have brand new comp dual springs rated up to .525 lift. Thw inner springs broke off about hald a coil. Idk whst happened. Its judt a e303 with stock rockers torqued to 18ftlbs

Ouch that sucks to hear, I am getting nervous about my motor as I know for a fact it hasn't started in a few years, and I don't know what was done to it when I got it. Came out of a rear side hit fox, and not much else is known :(

04-27-2013, 03:37 AM
Check see if they were set to correct install height u definitely found the coil bind
coleary1992
04-27-2013, 10:38 AM
The 302 in my fox sat for 6 years. I didn't have one problem with it. Might just sell my dirt bike, bu ild a forged motor and slap a turbo on it
lost cause
04-27-2013, 10:48 AM
haha, thats good to know, and definitely, sounds like a good plan. Dirt bikes just break bones :P
coleary1992
04-27-2013, 10:55 AM
And the comp dual spring kit didn't come with any shims or anything.
dr59l
04-27-2013, 05:40 PM
Most don't come w shims but say installed height on box an up to u to set to correct height w micrometer tool.

I have no idea how to do that...ill judt have a shop set it up. How much would I be shelling out for labor?
dr59l
04-28-2013, 01:37 AM
Not sure bout ur area but my friend usually charges $20. I do all my own set up an let him do machine work as he has a full machine shop in his garage. If they said 130#@1.8 an coil bind @1.125 means ur good for roughly. 675 lift an we check them in a vise compressed an usually have a .060 safety margin. If u buy that trick flow kit it comes w a rod exactly 1.8 so u set em up yourself easy.
dr59l
04-28-2013, 01:51 AM
Tfs-2500100 comes w everything u need an instructions to do it yourself. Should be good for e cam as a lot of people run em on p heads w them.good luck an if u don't wanna pull heads to do it u can roll up one cylinder at a time an pressurized it w head on an do it. Up to u

Ill just send the motor to a shop snd have it oinched out to a 306. Needs rings anyway.
chrisb1961
04-28-2013, 08:28 PM
Good luck man. I have the pushrods if you need them. Let me know

04-29-2013, 10:22 PM
Did some research and found out a lot of guys are running stock e7 springs and don't valve float til 6200-6500 which is plenty for me. Gonna swap springs and get push rods and see how she runs.
