Battery preference

So I am in need of 2 new batteries for my 96 f250 7.3L. Anyone have any experiences with Interstate batteries? That's what I am looking at getting. But open to suggestions. Really don't want to spend more than 130.00 per a battery.

Kenworth of Cincinnati (on Mosteller) had a good sale on batteries. Don't know about now, but wouldn't hurt to check.

In my opinion, most batteries are good. The key is keeping them maintained properly, especially when the car is not a daily driver. I recommend keeping a battery tender on it

Duralast Gold from Auto Zone in my 2000 Powerstroke.
I also have 2 of them in my race car. Been in it for seven years.
I always ran Sears Die Hard until I bought a used car with a five year old Duralast in it that lasted another three years.
I have an Interstate on my boat that has never let me down.

Always had good luck with Motorcraft Batteries personally.

I have two duralast golds in my powerstroke and they been there for 5 years and the truck sits more than its driven

dekas in my race car interstate in my truck (MEGATRON) and my truck has a mx7000 lightbar with arow stick and 2 100 watt sirens the race car has no alternator so im some what rough on it

I have been getting the Interstate batteries from up in Tri County since I started driving. My dad was a big fan and turned me onto them. Usually get a "blip/blib" not sure how you actually say it and it's a little cheaper. Have only had one that had a problem but the warranty covered it. All my others have lasted for years and even past on to family members.

If you do alittle research the battery industry is very incestuous. Especially the brands like Walmart, Autozone, Diehard etc. Non of the brands make thier own batteries, they are normally made by one of the 3 or battery giants. More than likely they are made by more than one to save on shipping cost. If you dig alittle more you can even find where one manufacturer will actually produce batteries for competitors.

We work with large telecom/industrial batteries every day and there are really two or three major manufacterers. Then there are a few smaller companies making specialty cells. The larger companies continue to snatch up the smaller companies and merge. We really install 2 brands for 90% of our installations.

Here is a pic of a 600V battery string we took out of the north end of Dayton. They had been sitting for quite some time and leaked all over the room. If I remember right this stack was about 50,000#.

I personally just get my truck batteries from Tractor Supply, they are Exide and if the go bad in a year its an absolutely free replacement. After that its prorated.
