Does anyone on here have any first hand experience with this round in an AR platform? I was thinking since $1/round .223/5.56 looks like it is going to be the norm for a while, why wouldn't one switch to this AAC round.

Plus, Liberty Suppressors has that Leonidas integral suppressor system thats REALLY growing on me, and will only require one tax stamp since it's built onto the 9" barrel to make it a 16" overall barrel length.

I don't have any experience with that round I do have an Armalite AR10 .308 which I love since I can share ammo with the M1A.

The govt right now is buying up a load of ammo. I can't remember how much but they are stock piling billions of rounds right now.

I think the 300 blk is all hype, or at least I fail to see the magic. The 300 blk is essentially a slightly improved 7.62x39, which has horrible ballistics past 300 yards. You may want to look into the 6.5 Grendel if you want a medium range cartridge that will work in an AR-15 platform. The 6.5 Grendel is a great all around hunting and medium to long range round. This could be a lengthy discussion, so I will just advise you to do some research on the 6.5 Grendel.

I don't own a 6.5 Grendel, but I would consider getting an upper chambered for it. I'm currently having a Remington 700 built in 260 Remington (.308 case/6.5 bullet), the 6.5 bullets have great ballistics compared to 30 cal's. They also make AR10's chambered in 260, that is a great option also.

Also heard the same thing about the AAC round. That's why I never went to it in my AR.

The idea behind the 300 Blackout is its sub sonic and easy to suppress. I love mine I'm waiting on my form one to come back now.

that thing is probably the best round for close quarters imo, other than that i really have a hard time thinking it would be good at any long range ex 150+ yards

Its not all hype. Its optimized for a suppressed SBR platform. Its designed to:

Only need a barrel swap to convert a 5.56 rifle
Shoot suppressed, unsuppressed, sub or super sonic with no gas system changes
To be quieter than 5.56
To provide more energy than 9mm

Its for CQB, not for shooting past 300yds. SBR with a can in 5.56 is loud as shit. SBR with a can in 9mm lacks knockdown power. 300blk is the best of both.

Like I said, I fail to see the magic. I have zero interest in owning that cal. It sounds like it's a good solution to an imagined problem. I'm sure it fills a niche somehow, but think there are better solutions out there. But that's my opinion, I could be wrong.

I'm liking to for the suppressed aspect. Living on a developed country road has its own set of issues when it comes to shooting, and being able to switch from 5.56 to 300 BLK and use the same PMAGs and BCG is a huge advantage to running 7.62x39 in the same platform. I'd love to have an AR10 also, but those parts are even harder to come by.
