Things are picking back up on the base and I should be back to permanent work status in a few months. After seeing what kind of rates I can get on a used car, (after looking at refinancing the wife's rig to a lower rate) I went looking for a 2011+ 5.0 M6 with Brembo's. Came across this...

http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?zip=45806&endYear=2011&listingType=used&engineCode=8CLDR&listingTypes=used&transmissionCode=MAN&sellerType=p&sellerTypes=p&transmissionCodes=MAN&mmt=%5BFORD%5BMUST%5B%5D%5D%5B%5D%5D&modelCode1=MUST&sortBy=derivedpriceASC&showcaseOwnerId=0&startYear=2011&makeCode1=FORD&engineCodes=8CLDR&extColorsSimple=BLUE&searchRadius=300&bodyStyleCodes=COUPE&listingId=330291326&listingIndex=2&Log=0

I can get into it for a tick under $400/month (got approved for more than selling price). Yes, the miles are high. Was told that it's a Connecticut car that went back and forth from New England to NC/SC. Seller is the executor of her late brother's estate, seemed knowledgeable about it (non smoker, never wrecked, didn't see snow). New tires and brakes, stone stock other than that. It would be LUCKY to see 5k miles a year with me (I drive about 12 miles a day when working on base).

That car is nice but for the miles its not a steal. It looks to be a base model gt. Still nice but very different than the premium. The inside is is sort of cheepy and the steering wheel controls and gauges in the middle are different. As well as the shifter, dash, seats, etc The radio sounds kinda crappy no matter what level you get. To much base but still ok for what it is. Not knocking the car one bit as I love the car and color and they run great and the clutch is sooooooo nice. If you havent already go look at a gt premium with or without the back up camera and screen in the dash and make sure you wouldnt rather find a good deal on that. I am sure terry could help you or maybe me but I dont get to many of them on my lot. If you want to see mine or would like pics of anything in the premium package let me know. I live in lebanon and work in batavia. I can take pics or you can come see it for yourself. In my opinion the comfort and add ons are worth a little more. Again not knocking the car at all I love the color and the miles are what they are. I have 41,xxx on mine. No matter what you do they are great daily cars to have fun with and I am sure you will love it.

Terry is the same distance from me as that car (Warren, Mi. I'm in Lima). Brembo's and 3.73 are the 2 musts for me. You're right about it being a base GT. ran the VIN as a 300A with the BBP and gear as the only options. What differences are there in the gauges other than the color changing?

There's also one over by Summit in Sterling Gray, same options and 12k miles for $25xxx

Also, with spring and tax season around the corner, I'm not expecting a huge deal. And this won't be a DD, just a fun summer car.

heres some pics of the preimum. Google the base gt and check it out. I think you will still get the color changing stuff but there are enough changes that make the premium worth the extra money.

After seeing the base interior, the only thing that would bug me is the steering wheel, which can be swapped to a Bullitt or GT500 one or sent to Dallas Steering Wheel and covered. Either one for a few hundred bucks. I like the black face gauges.

I also like the base guages over the premium. Those wheels are by far my favorite on the 11-13 cars. That's exactly how I would want it, 3:73's, Brembo's, but in white.

Then yes. You should get the car.

Dont think just buy! I almost bought a premium GT in black with every option over my truck. Kind of wish i did but at the same time im not haha. Payments on the GT would have been probably 100$ cheaper :(

Mine is a base GT. The steering wheel is cheap. I swapped mine for a GT500 leather wheel. I swapped my seats for the leather upgrade seats. They are like Sean's but with a grabber blue stripe. I prefer the black face gauges.

@Firestang70....... Did you swap out the whole seats or do the seat cover conversion ? There's leather covers (new) on EBay going for around $350.

After careful budget planning, it doesn't look like its going to fit if (more like when) a worst case scenario happens. Was told by higher ups in our company that the big contracts that were supposed to be signed by thanksgiving are being kicked down the road by the government because of the AWB talks an picking back up on the fiscal cliff debates. I'd rather not put my family through a possible tough spot just because I wanted a toy. Believe me, I want it, the wife wants me to have it, but if the money isn't there, what can ya do?

Seems like every time I go to get something nice for myself shit doesn't fall into place.

.I swapped out the whole seat. I did do leather take off skins on my 06. Just takes a couple hours, patience and hog ring pliers make it a lot easier. I prefer my interior now and saved $3500.

It happens. Good thing is the cars your looking at arent going to get more expensive so really your just going to end up saving a few bucks when its that much older.
