Theft Light

So just recently my theft light decided to come on and not turn off. It would turn off after about ten minutes of driving but now it just stays on. It starts and runs fine. I can turn off the pats in my tune but I'd rather fix it the right way. This is a 99 GT btw.

that might be in your key buddy? if you have an extra key give it a try

Have to scan the vsm/pats module and see what the error is. Disabbling the pats in a tune just keeps it from killing ecm outputs for fuel, ign, etc - does not stop the module from communicating with the transponders in the keys. Might be a key issue, a reciever issue in the column(likely) or module issue. If its turned off in the tune id short the theft bulb in the dash-removing it altogether may cause other mil's. The 10min window is odd. Usually if its not recognizing key id it pulls fuel. Are you sure pats isnt already bypassed? Does it have other electronic modifications?
