Bear with me since I am new to this. Started to get everything out to throw my motor together this weekend. It's 89 shortblock, gt40p heads, tfs1 cam. I realized that I don't have the guide plates for the rockers. I have Scorpion 1.6 pedestal mount roller rockers, stock push rods and lifters. I have noticed in some build pictures that the guide plates don't appear to be used. Will I need them? Does anyone have any laying around that they want to sell?

GT40p's shouldn't need guide plates unless you've converted to some type of adjustable rocker arm? Or do you mean the rocker rail/channel things that pedestal rockers use?

Yeah, meaning the rocker channel that the pedestal sits in. Thanks guys, I realized I don't have any shims either. Hopefully I won't need them, we shall see.
