My dad bought this over the summer from the guy across the street whos had it for many many years. It was kinda an impulse buy and now he wants to let it go. The guy had put all kinds of NOS parts and fixed all up over the years. it was a nice clean car to start with. I always kinda wondered why somebody would put so much time and money into a Pinto but whatever floats your boat I guess. I dont have a whole lot of details on it but will find out more. I know its very reliable and really easy on gas. Has made the trip from parents house in Mason to dads farm in Falmouth KY. Its actully at the farm right now but will have him drive it back to Mason if anybody wants to check it out. Heres a few pics I can get more if needed.

I was thinking a 2.3 turbo would be pretty cool in there.

You should buy it to give Doug and his beetle a run for it at the lowest HP Dyno day next year!

keep it stock?... it's a freaking pinto. Buy it, rip that bitch apart and stuff a huge motor in it. Otherwise...lame. The purists really need to stick to cars that are cool if left alone. This ain't one of them.
But nice clean car none the less. glws

Im far from a purist but I couldnt disagree with you more. this car is cool because its so nice clean and original. You dont see them like that. Ive seen a few nasty pintos with big motors in them and I never said to myself "wow look at that badass pinto" Instead its more like why would somebody put that much time, money, effort, into a pinto... Its still a pinto even if its fast. I thought the same thing when the first owner dumped the money into it that he did restoring it. Seemed like such a waste of time to me. I would kinda like to see it go to somebody who would leave it alone and drive it the way it is so it could pay for its self in fuel savings but the truth is once its payed for it I dont care if they set it on fire and roll it into a lake.

It's all about appreciating a car for what it is. This car is 33 years old and looks like it just rolled out of the showroom. That's pretty cool. There are plenty of Pinto drag cars out there that have already been caged, engine swapped, etc. A survivor is cool, regardless of what kind of car it is.
It's just like F-bodies...let's face it, an early Third Gen is a complete turd of a car, but one restored to factory new is still cool. :D (FWIW, this applies to early Fox bodies as well)
