Going to get window tint done on Wasabi Friday @ Spade.

I am looking for a very subtle window tint, not some PIMP TINT looking blackout. Works for race cars and show cars, but I want more functionality. I want to be abe to see out of the car at night without rolling the windows down.

50% is the limit in Ohio. I was thinking of 50% all the way around OR 50% sides and 38% rear. Front windshield will NOT be done.

Input would be appreciated. Or some photos with %tint level used. Thanks.

35%. You cannot even tell 50% is there.

Depends on the color of the interior of the car. What color is the interior?

This is no joke dont even waste your money doing 50%. I say 35% at the least and even 20% is not too bad. My daily driver ranger is 20% and its fine even at night but still looks some what dark from outside.

heres a pic of my ranger it is 20% all around with "sunstrip" in windshield. It looks real dark on a gloomy day but not so much when its sunny out. My cobra in my sig is 5% and that thing is dark as hell all the time. all my cars have been done at Spade by the way. http://i686.photobucket.com/albums/vv228/55bandit/IMG_17301.jpg

Also want to add KEEP YOUR RECITE. I have had several cars done by Spade over the years and they did a great job on all of them. This ranger was tinted in early 2009 when I bought it new and just this summer the passinger window developed 6 or 7 bubbles that got to be a bit smaller than a dime over a few months. When I finally had the time to get it over there I had my recite and they retinted the window free no questions asked.

Chad for reference my car is 20% on yhe side and 5% on the back. That helps with the bright lights behind me. I would do at least 35% IMO.

Gotta have it green, ext. and charcoal interior. Never thought of that.

20% is way to dark for my taste. So I am torn between 50 and 38.

I run 20 percent on my car in the front. I have black interior and run 5 percent in the back, its dark. If you run a 50% it will be a little darker from the interior. I would run a 38 personally. My buddy just had his tinted last week. Ill ask him.

Phuck it, run 14% on the doors and 2.5% everywhere else

I'd go with 38%, like some of the others have said, 50% isn't worth the money as you will hardly notice it. I'm the same as you and don't like super dark tint, but I think 38% is good.

Then all I need is some 26's all around and a felt hat with a big peacock feather in it...LOL!

Appreciate all of the feedback. Thanks.

I guess my only other concern will be how the tint stays in place while curing on a 2005+ model mustangs. The windows drop a 1/4-1/2" each time a door is opened then back up to seal after the door is closed. I only need to get it home and then it will sit for a good long time without driving.

5% all the way around FTW!!! Go big or go home. Lol J/K. I just had mine done with 5% all around. Like MWoods said its dark all the time. But thats what I like. I agree with everyone about the 20% but thats not what you want. If I had to choose between 50 and 38 Id go with the 38. I know you said your going Friday but next Friday on black Friday they are having an open house dyno day. They may have a special on tint jobs. Ask them about it they may hook you up. I am very happy with the job they did for me. I was very picky with what I wanted. They gave me excatly what I wanted.

Gave me the same deal you got RT. Black Friday I will be at the in-laws - HIDING FROM THE MADRUSH OF KNUCKLEHEAD SHOPPERS LOOKING TO STORM WALMARTS FOR THE COVETED PRESENT OF THE YEAR.

Chad, I know you hated your car after we had it done.

I believe it was 35%.

Based on your tastes, I am going to recommend 50% to you.

I personally like 20% all around and 50 on the windshield, but that's just me.

Chad you saw mine in your driveway and I have 20%. There are days that I wish it was a little darker and others where I know I made the right choice.

Hey while your there talk to them about doing some custom decals for you. Maybe they can come up with something badass.

Ohio no longer has a % tint law. The law now reads if a reasonable person can not see into your car it is too dark.

The guy I use has a film that is called 27%. It is the exact match to factory privacy tint. 35% is the legal limit in Indiana but this 27 is passable. It's dark but still has great visibility. I don't think they even enforce it in Indiana anymore though.

Sure...the one thing to remember is with some tints you can see into the vehicle during the day because of the sunlight coming in the windshield. However at night they may be just as dark as a limo. Also reflective/mirror tint is still illegal.

20% had like a 5% on a previous car and it sucked when you was trying to pull out of a driveway or lot with no street lights. I have 20 on my Ram and Mustang, with no night problems at all. You can still see in, during daylight, but cuts alot of sun out too.

That helps a lot. Thanks Terry. I think I need to do 38% rear window and 50% on the sides which shouuld give just a slight tint.

Unless it was the angle I saw redfire from that day that made it look jet black, (almost looked like a limo from that angle I thought) 35% will be too much for my taste. Will have to see Friday morning. Thanks.

Not worried about legality. It's about being overly dark. I want a very subtle change. Just enough that its noticeable. Such that someone says "Are those windows tinted?" and not "Damn man, how dark did you go on that tint?" LOL!

35% is about perfect for being able to see through it at night and still looking remotely dark. I felt like I wasted my money on 50% before.

Gotcha....I always did 20% in my younger years. I think when I had the Flex done it was 35% as I wanted it to match the rear factory tint as close as possible. Of course it had a rear camera so night time backing was not an issue.

Got 5% all way around my wires jeep, even over factory tint, its jet black my only complaint is at night backing up sucks...
