I know people on here have used Diablo, Superchips, ....... hand helds on their 96+ Mustangs. Other than gear ratio calibrations and that kind of stuff , can you tell a difference? Power , Throttle response , Fuel mileage? Has anyone used one on a gas truck? Obviously the programmers on my diesel trucks are a huge gain, but I am curious what results people have had on a gas truck. I was looking at the Bully Dogs , Diablos, Superchips just to see what all options and gains they claim. For the $300-600 investment, I would just like to know someone has had some experience with one of them.

I have a friend that has a bully dog on his 05 f250 power stroke. It has a 60hp setting and a 100hp setting. That thing moves. He's never had it on the 100hp setting yet. It's just a switch under the dash that you flip. It cost like $400 and took about 15 mins to install.

Yeah , I have a lot of experience with diesel truck programmers. I've had one on all my common rails and sometimes 2 on my old 24 valve Cummins. Those I know work. It's the gas ones that I've never dealt with.

hand held yes, but a canned tune, no. SFC tuner was used for my dyno tune. Between the gears and the tuner, it's a big difference.

My 04 supercrew had a hypertech and catback i gained 1 mpg another guy had same setup he got 3 but he was still 1 mpg behind me. So guess driving styles but it did help yhrottle response a bit especially on drive by wire

I have a Bully Dog G/T on my 04 Ram I don't know about HP numbers but both regular and premium tunes woke it up quite a bit. MPG went from 11/13 to 16/18 local with good driving habits. It actually got 20mpg to and from Branson. It can be setup to display just about anything you want to monitor, can change tire size, shift points, rev limit and all the other jazz. The only thing that sucks is it take 15-20 minutes to change the program.
