Drove this home from SC(RUST FREE!!).... Its stock as you can get, don't even have sub-frame connectors and is still speed density:lol:

Back from the dyno... waste gate issues, spikes up to 11-12 at about 5000 and the fuel pump cant keep up but it did make some decent #'s for a little 67mm, 14* of timing and stock block street car.

are you hoping to break 115 mph?
i heard you got a pic of a ball this morning?
pm me if you liked that ball, i have another one.......

nice build by the way, car is insane ... bet it could make 750+ rwhp with a block, timing, fuel and actually making a pull above 5200 ... thats sick for that parts list!

btw - I verified my speedo was properly corrected for tire Rotations per mile when they reflashed the PCM at Roush as I requested so yours is off 2mph more than we thought. I think you were showing 50 when I was showing 65.

BTW - when that car goes into boost it looks like someone just turned on a high pressure air hose and started blowing grass clippings off their driveway.:bigthumb The exhaust changes from amild deep engine rumble to SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Not a sleeper after that is heard following the sh,sh,sh,sh,sh of the wastegate when you let out. Can that waste gate be muffled somehow or would that cause restrictions that would create other issues? Just curoius.

The wastegate doesnt make any noise when you let out. That would be the blow off valve. The exhaust leak sound when the wastegate does open can be muffled by routing it outlet back into the down pipe somewhere. Thats assuming the wastegate is currently dumped to atmosphere. Same goes for the blow off valve. It can be replaced with a bypass valve and routed to the inlet piping of the turbo, between the air filter and compressor. These two things would make the kit super quiet.

Thanks Walter. I had things mixed up. I am used to twin screws and them having vacuum bypass valves. I was thinking bypass in SC world was the same as wastegate in teh Turbo world. Thanks for educating me. So it is the blow off valve that does that function at throttle down. Good to know they can be quieted down if one desires it. Thanks. Now I won't sound as much like a ditz when I refer to that noise. LOL! Thanks again.

Don't feel bad Chad... I didn't know much about a turbo and I just learned all that during building this car.

I have heard of guys putting mufflers on the wastegate dump too. I'm kinda with Walter though, they are cool noises.

That pic definitely does a great job of describing how it feels Rick:bigthumb

I never feel bad when I am learning something. And yes the ear-to-ear grin one gets from being boosted is just unexplainable. YEE-HA!!! All good stuff.

Nice numbers shannon...looks great too.

Bring the other coupe down to Thornhill on 8/17...run the 11.5 index class sandbagging. They don't have any tech to there to even look for a bar.
I'll be there running in the street/drag grudge race.

Battle in the Bluegrass to support the Wounded Warrior Project! Aug 17th at Thornhill Park!!
12.99 index, 11.50 index, and the Ultimate Grudge class sponsored by Cincy Street Wars!
Pro tree, heads up, 1/8th mile for $1000 in this class!
"Street" car vs Drag car.
Street car rules: 8.5 slick or 275 radial only
Drag car rules: Door cars only and no tube chassis cars.
