1993 Cobra Questions

I am kicking around the idea of getting rid of my coupe and buying a 93 Cobra. I've always wanted one and truly think it would be a better investment for the future than the coupe. After looking at Sean's thread and people talking about his car being valuable down the road, it got me thinking. I love my car and have owned it 13 years now , but I am honestly bored with it. My thinking is sell my car ( i have a standing offer) and buy a nice cobra and just enjoy it or do something to my car to actually get me interested in it again. Probably an engine build and maybe put a manual transmission in it. There is a Cobra on eBay that is 20 minutes from my house. I definitely want to check it out , but what would you guys do? I have another project sitting in the barn but it is going to be longer term so I want to do something over the winter with the Mustang this year.

if you are looking at it strictly from an investment standpoint, i'd say go for it. especially if you are going to change yours. a low mileage original 5.0 will probably draw some premiums though.

Are you talking about the teal/black cloth car in Muncie? I know the owner. It's a nice car for sure. Teal/black is the best combo ever! I've had two and will have a third before I die. I almost bought this car before the current owner but the front plate turned me off.

Oh and as far as an investment goes on 93 cobras I have owned 5 different ones and made money or at the very least broke even on every single one of them. Take your time look for the right deal stay away from anything with missing vin tags on any body panel and its hard to go wrong. The more stock they are the more they will bring.

The car in Muncie is the one on eBay. It appears to be a good car. I'm honestly not terribly concerned with it being an "investment". I'm just looking at the big picture. My car 10 years from now is still an LX coupe. It is a very desirable color combo and is very very nice but is still an automatic lx. In 10 years when both my car and the cobra are 30 years old , the cobra is still better to have in the garage I think. Having both is doable but not logical. I have pictures of your engine and about anything else they want to see.

for sure the cobra. Get the right one with the right miles so your not afraid to drive it. Leave it alone and enjoy it. sell it whenever you want to sell it. But thats just me.

Like mwoods said , the teal in muncie is a beautiful car and willy is very caring for his cars . A few of us on the 1993 cobra registry tried to talk him into a raffle for that car at 500 a ticket . He didnt bite. He has had a few low mileage cobras and a terminator. Stand up guy , helped me a ton in getting my 93 cobra . I dont think you could go wrong in buying that car . It has been very well taking care of .
