I'm torn about getting nitto 555r's again vs getting nt05's. This would be my 3 set of 555r if I buy them which I have been pretty happy with them on the street and some track time. I was thinking about NT05 street tires instead so I could actually not worry about being caught in the rain. People seemed not to be too happy with a non-R compound after having it. Just want to hear you guy's thoughts.

Stick with the 555r. I've got em on my z06 and I love em. I've had em on a hand full of stangs too. I don't have any complaints about them in the rain but the mt et street radial is a diff story.

stick with them. any low profile tire isn't going to last anyways.

I'd consider them but from what I gather they are worst in the rain than the 555r's.

Not sure what style but I'm pretty happy with the machine finish 03 Cobra wheels I have on it right now. I will be placing the tires onto my 17x10.5" 03 wheels.

I have both, the 555R is a good all around street DR with decent life. On the track they are "ok".
The NT05R is a much better track tire and handles great on dry roads. It wears much quicker however.
I have never had either in the rain.

From the little roll you and rtvickers did , i would say you need a sticky tire on that beast . Im glad i was priveleged enough to have a front row seat , both cars sounded awesome.

Last time I had street tires it would break loose at 60mph in 3rd gear. The roads are cold right now and I'm just glad Rtvickers and I kept traction. I was hoping the Nt05's I was looking into buying are sticky enough to make good use of at least second gear.

I not the most tech savy guy and i say this sadly , that the gopro recorded nothing that day when i thought it was recording the whole time. My friend who i borrowed it from told me how to use it but also gave me the instructions . Like most men , " i dont need no stinking instructions." so we lost out on some cool footage. I will be more prepared next time.
