Ok First of I just wanna say , I will have about 8-9k to spend on a car after winter , Just dont have a garage right now so I want to wait. But i have owned a dozen fox bodys , a few GT's LX's and Notchbacks , but i have always sold the cars because there was always something that I didnt like , and they were all mostly stock besides a few bolt ons , They just wasnt quick enough , I have never owned a good H/C/I car.

So now I am pumped to get another Mustang , I really want something in the street/strip area. I have always wanted a Cobra never owned a 93 Cobra , Just not sure if i could find one in that price range that i would want to buy . I also have my eye on 96-98 Cobra's , 99 and up GT's/ Cobra, I would also like a good H/C/I 5.0 , Just want to make sure when i buy it i plan to keep it and not wanna sell it 2 months down the road . I just cant make up my mind on what i want to buy. If I could get a 03-04 Cobra in that price range that would be sweet then I wouldnt be confused on what to buy..

It barrels down to

1990-1993 GT or Notchback . must have black interior
1993 Cobra , No sunroof cars what so ever..
1994-1998 Cobra's
99-up Mustang GT's that are around that price range, have seen a few 05 up

Never really been a chevy guy but the Ls1 cars do run good .
so 99-up Ls1 cars ..

What do you guys think would be the best choice to make..

All cars must be rust free and have a clean title..

Also what do you guys think about building a fox body car how i would want it , maybe find one around 2-3k and beef it up with a HCI setup and maybe a supercharger or turbo kit and of course a decent paint job and nice set of wheels ..

I just want something in the 11sec to 12sec range , that is fun to cruise , not a full out racecar..

If you don't know exactly what you want your going to be disappointed in the long run and probably sell it off again. I'd spend more time figuring out exactly what you want and then make it happen.

Well its not hard at all to go 11's or 12's. And I have proved that you don't need matching parts to do so. An explorer motor with a 4.10 and some slicks or DR's and you will run 12's all day if you drive it right. I split the block on my 347 so to finish the racing season out. We took a 302 and used my TFS ported 190 heads, parker intake, QFT 750 carb and a stock cam degreed at 108* just to clear pistons and managed to run 11.80's with it @ 113 with 1.53 60's. So yeah a little imagination and work and you can run 11's or 12's easy and economically. I built my wife a 89 coupe a few years ago. Explorer motor with Forrd racing shorties, Mac H pipe, 40 series flowmasters dumped at axle, 4.10's, T5 trans with a advance auto parts clutch. Autozone shocks and struts(Gabriel to be exact). Stock coil springs no subframes or nothing. Took an old set of MT ET draggs 26X8.5's on a set of 10 holes and ran 12.60's@107 consistently. Not braggin by any means just giving info to maybe help you out a little and give you some ideas. Plated on here use to buy explorer motors and put turbo's on them and run 10's all day long. Cheap mans drag car/street car.

If all your wanting is 11s or 12s then that's easy Like steve said, my coupe had 3.73s, explorer intake, and suspension it went 12.6's, I then sprayed it with a 100 shot and it went 11.9 and only sprayed in two gears...

Or you can hit kennebellcobra up on here. And he can port and polish you a set of E7's and hell you may run 9's. That was a joke but Shannon has a way of making cheap parts do miracles.

Buying would be the way to go as far as bang for your buck.. But if you enjoy doing things yourself and would enjoy the car more because you made it how you want then buy a nice one and build yourself. I may be letting mine go soon.. but would be a little above the 8-9k range.. should run 12's like it sits

Thanks for your time Steve , There are a lot of different combo's I would consider doing , I would really like to have a car with Aluminum heads for sure, Every 5.0 I have owned had Cast Iron heads , Think I could get a on3 turbo kit on a HCI car and have it tuned to where its streetable and reliable as much as possible.

Then again I would kinda like a car that has a swap , Theres just so many choices out there , A badass svt Lightning would be sick but then again a sick ass HCI 5 liter , or even a stroker motor car . Got lots of options I guess it all just barrels down to what catches my eye at the time i have the money , When i get the money in hand , Im not gonna be in a hurry , It would be nice to buy a car off the site that someone wants to part with , I hate dropping money into something you dont know anything about.. Theres this stroker motor notch on craigslist m says its a 331 and i know the guy he got it from its not a 331 . Just people like that who scares me away , Why not be honest about your car it would sell faster..

what color interior does your car have ? If you would consider 9k cash id be interested in your car , but not until after the winter of course.. Says its a 331 6 speed ? Hard to see im on my Phone right now..
