View Full Version : Stalling when letting off the gas issue
Recently while driving my stang around town it stalls out when i let off the gas. It is quickly remedied by just poping the clutch while still moving and it starts right up. Also this occurs quite frequently while making a turn and letting off the gas. Any advice would be appreciated. Below is the info on my car.

Try cleaning your idle air control valve

What he said. Definitely try that first. They tend to get gummed up pretty good. If you need one I have a stock throttle body with a good iacv on it you can have. I've been trying to give it away for like a year now. LoL
Thanks fella's. I'll try that when I get home from work. I just recently had work done to her while deployed to Afghanistan and when I returned my folks drove it out here to good old Colorado Springs, Colorado. I was begining to believe it had something to do with the altitude out here.

I'd also check the tpms after you do the idle air control. Or slightly crank up the idle screw. Depending on what it's idling at now

Also if it has been awhile might want to change your fuel filter.

88... mass air or speed density? If mass air, do you know if it's factory or a conversion?
Good old speed density. I took out the idle air control valve last night. Took it work with me this morning so I could have one of the tank mechanics test it to see if it's getting voltage and if I need to clean it or not.

Ok. I know some MAF converted ones do the same thing and it deals with the VSS
Well I cleaned the idle air control valve with some carb cleaner and put it back on. But I drove it to work the other day and it is still stalling out. Any suggestions?

Check for vacuum leaks. And I think Kevin meant to say TPS sensor. TPMS is for the tires, which your car doesnt have.
